UPDATE: Chemo treatment #4 is done!  Leslie is home now and resting.  They did have to do the IV twice to get her started but she hung in there and stayed strong.  Thank you again for your encouragement and prayers.  Leslie was smiling big with all of the comments you left for her.  You made her day.  GOD IS GOOD.

Good morning!  Well yesterday didn't go as well as I had hoped it would.  The first girl in the lab just couldn't get the vein (OUCH) and had to find another girl to try it again (by now I am teary eyed) and that girl got it on the first try but had to do it on the top of my hand to get it (DOUBLE OUCH!) and then I was really upset.  I am just tired of getting poked with a needle.  It hurts!!   Thank you for praying for me.  I really need it today for mental strength and for them to get the IV in the first time this morning.  My appointment is at 8:30.  Mike will update the blog later today.  Please also pray that the time passes by fast while I am there.  My spirit feels a little down today......I need a pick me up.  Thanks.

Good morning!  It is a bittersweet morning for me.  The kids are back in school today and I am not there.  I do know though that I am doing the job that I am suppose to be doing right now and that is to fight this ugly disease.  I know that there is no way physically that I could go to work now, but mentally I am raring to go.  The kids are so good for me.  I just love them!  God willing I will be back to work in the near future.  In the meantime I will have to hear all of the funny stories from the staff I work with.  "Hi everyone from Waggoner!!"  I miss you all!

This morning I go to the hopital for extensive lab work and tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. I have #4 out of 6  IV Chemo therapy treatments.  Please pray for me today and tomorrow for strong veins.  So far so good, but as you do the chemo it tends to weaken the veins.  So far both of the male nurses I have had during the treatments are awesome!  They are incredibly kind and sweet and work hard on my IV's to go smooth.  (They know what a big baby I am).  My eyes are closed the whole time they are doing it!

Thank you Cheryl Hargrove for bringing out the Texas Sheet Cake!  It is sooooo good!  Thanks to everyone for telling me what they had for dinner.  Got some ideas now.

Good Sunday morning!!!!   WooooooooHooooooooo!!!!  Oh Yeah.....the San Diego Chargers won last night in over time!!!  Could you all hear me screaming???   What a game!!!  Did you see the game???  What a game!!!  The Gilbert household is over the top smiling and happy!!  Talk about being on the edge of your seat.......looking forward to seeing who the Chargers will be playing next week.  Won't know until after one of the playoff games today. 

More GREAT news.......I take my last steroid today!!  So very happy about that!   It takes a long time apparently to get out of your system but I am so looking  forward to seeing all of the side effects from them going away.  Especially the swelling and leg weakness.  Thanks so much for your continued prayers for me.  I feel them, need them and cherish them!  Your support for me is VERY APPRECIATED and I do not take it for granted.  I thank God everyday for it!  Don't know what I would do without all of you being my cheerleaders!  Thanks again!

GOD IS LOVE AND HE IS GOOD!!!

Aaaaaahhhhhh the joys of having girlfriends!  My friend Cheryl had me come over yesterday to get out of my house for a while and relax in hers.  We parked it on the couch and watched a movie, had delicious coffee and ate chocolate!  What more could a girl ask for???   We laughed and cried.  Total chick afternoon........so fun and something I really needed.  It is nice to look at someone else's walls for a while.  Thanks Cheryl!  That is exactly what I needed!!

Okay....today is THE day!  Charger game tonight!  We can do it!!  GO CHARGERS!!!!  Okay Jenna S., Clyde C., Ramsay and Hudelson familes......what do you have to say about that??  Remember.....you are entering Charger territory!  Just kidding.....like having fun with you guys.  :)  All you Charger fans out there.....give a huge shout out for our team!!  Get your jerseys ready to wear tonight.  I know the Dale family will be set.  Monica & Dad....you got yours ready??  My mom is a trader and is a Colts fan now.....whatever!!

GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!

Happy Friday!!  How was your New Years Day?  Since I am forced to relax I did get a lot of scrapbooking done yesterday and I was loving every moment of it!  I just love taking pictures and putting them together in a creative way to share with everyone.  I always have about 50 projects swirling around in my brain that I want to do.  Now that I have some extra time on my hands I need to take advantage and get it done!  :)

Tomorrow is a BIG game for the Chargers.  We host the Indy Colts here in San Diego.  All games now are must wins......so GO CHARGERS!!!!  YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Monday I have to go to the hospital for lab work and Tuesday is Chemo treatment #4.  This time it is at 8:30 a.m. which I am so happy about.  I like the fact that I can go in first thing in the morning and get it over with.  Please pray for my veins both days.  Also this Sunday will be my last day for the steroids........if you could keep me in your prayers to regain the strength back in my legs and that all of the nasty side effects I have had with them will go away quickly.  Thanks!!!
