Good Thursday morning!!  This is the day that the Lord has made.....let us rejoice and be glad in it!!  Please say this out loud to yourself.  You CANNOT say this without smiling!  Thank you God for another precious day to spend with our family and friends!  I am so very thankful and do not take it for granted.  What beautiful sunny southern California days we have been having!  Not that I am ready for summer yet, but I have to say the weather has been nice.   When I brought Tyler home with me yesterday afternoon, we went outside and played and played.  It is so much easier having him outside everywhere now that he is walking.

I wanted to give you an update on how our book SPF 150 - It's a Sunny Day is going.  My dear friend Marga who is writing the book and I had to take a little time off from it late last year due to a death in her family as well as in ours.  With all that and all the holiday craziness we both decided to put it on hold till the beginning of this year.  Marga is back at it and we hope to make great progress on it this year.  I will keep you posted.  Please keep this project in your prayers.  We are very excited about it.

So what did everyone who is watching think of the first night of tryouts for American Idol?  I heard some really good singers. There was also a lot of craziness too.   I think the new judges are going to be good.  I liked them.   It is just the beginning.  We shall see.

Here are a couple more pictures of Tyler playing in the desert.  This first one is of him getting ready to swing the bat and hit the ball off of the tee.

Here he is getting ready to throw the ball.  Look at what great form he has.  haha!  This will make his other Papa David (Ryan's Dad) happy.  Papa David loves baseball.

Prayer requests:  There is someone who is carrying such a heavy burden right now.  They have asked for prayer that things will turn around in their life and start to get better soon.  This person is going through more then we could imagine but is keeping hope that the light at the end of the tunnel will be seen soon.  Thank you for taking the time to pray for them.  Also keep little Samuel in your prayers as he had another round of chemo yesterday.  Pray for his strength and healing.  Also please pray for little Ethan Cosio who is very sick with asthmatic bronchitis. Pray he has a speedy recovery.

Psalms 46 verse 1:  God is our refuge and strength, a tested help in times of trouble.

Read the bible in a year:  Exodus chapters 7 - 9.  Tomorrow (Friday) Exodus 10 - 12.  Please jump in and join us if you want.  We are taking it slow and going to have the whole bible read in a year.

Have a super day everyone!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question......If you were trying out for American Idol, what song would you sing?

Good Wednesday morning!  How is your week going?  It was great to be back to my work routine.  I loved seeing the kids and my co-workers again!  Today after work, I get to pick up my sweet Tyler from the babysitters and have him with me all afternoon.  The weather has been so nice out lately that I am looking forward to some play time outside.

I am in a big time throwing away and getting rid of stuff mood.  I went through one closet so far and have 2 bags of stuff ready for the Salvation Army.  If I didn't wear it or use it this winter.....out it went.  I am on a roll and dragging Mike to help me. haha!

I wanted to pass this info that I got from my friend Becky and my sister Monica along to you if you have not seen it already.  It is called "Cleaning for a Reason".  If you know of a woman currently undergoing chemotherapy please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides free house cleaning, once per month for 4 months while she is going through treatment.  All she has to do is sign up and fax a note from the Dr. confirming treatment.  You can get more info on their website www.cleaningforareason.org .  Is that so cool?  And so very much needed.

Here is a picture of Tyler running in the desert.  He is growing up way too fast!

Prayer requests:  For the safety and protection of all our men and women serving in our military.  Please keep their families in your prayers too.  Continued prayers for the young woman who tried commiting suicide and for her family.  They appreciate all your prayers for strength.  Also for the plans of a friend to go easy and smooth for her over the next few months.

Psalms 40 verse 5:  O Lord my God, many and many a time you have done great miracles for us, and we are ever in your thoughts.  Who else can do such glorious things?  No one else can be compared with you.  There isn't time to tell of all your wonderful deeds.

Read the bible in a year:  Exodus 4 - 6.  Tomorrow (Thursday) Exodus 7 - 9.

Have a wonderful day everyone!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question.......If you were to receive roses, what color would you want?  Does anyone grow any rose bushes in their yard?

"I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy.  Let's face it, friends make life a whole lot more fun!"---Charles R. Swindoll

Good Tuesday morning!!  I am so very thankful for ALL of my friends!! Today is my first morning going back to work in a week.  I missed the staff and kids a lot.  I am feeling pretty good and am ready to go and start my day.  I thank God for my job and for being healthy enough to go to my job.  I know I am doing so well because of your faithful prayers for me.

Wow!  What a warm sunny southern California day we had yesterday.  It got up into the high 80's!!  This is still January last time I checked.  I am not ready for this kind of weather yet.  YIKES!  How was the weather where you live yesterday?

I forgot to mention that while we were in the desert on Saturday, the Blue Angels did several fly bys.  That was so cool.  It was extra entertainment for free.  Tyler would look up at them and wave and say "bye-bye".  We don't know where he got that from but that is what he does when he hears an airplane.  So cute.

We watched some of the football playoff games this last weekend.

Hmmmmm........wonder who is superbowl bound?  I bet there were a lot of surprised Patriots fans on Sunday.  Ready to see the next round of playoff games this Sunday.  I am so sad that football season will be over soon.  I love football!  But guess what starts up next??  Yep....American Idol!

I have a picture of Tyler for you from when we went to the desert last Saturday.  He is having a blast getting handfuls of dirt/sand and pouring it on himself.  He actually put it on top of his head too.  :)  I love it!!!

Psalms 37 verse 11:  But all who humble themselves before the Lord shall be given every blessing, and shall have wonderful peace.

Read the bible in a year:  Exodus chapters 1 - 3.  Tomorrow (Jan. 19th):  Exodus 4 - 6.  Exodus tells us the wonderful story about Moses.

Have a terrific day everyone!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Good Monday morning!  How was your weekend?  Some of you are still enjoying an extra day off today.  We had another great weekend.  We went to the desert on Saturday to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday.  It was such a beautiful, sunny day and we all had an awesome time.   Lots of laughs, food (some of the best carne asada I have eaten) and desert riding fun.  Tyler loved it!!  He was covered in dirt from head to toe. He was not only covered, but he also thought it was a good idea to eat some of the dirt too.  He is definitely "all boy".   I will have some pictures for you tomorrow of it.

I am feeling better everyday.  I think last night was the first night where I slept without feeling any pain.  My head is still sore and still a little swollen but doing much better.  My PET scan is this Saturday and I will then see my oncologist Dr. McClay on Wednesday, January 26th in the afternoon.  It will be then that Dr. McClay will tell me if I have to go on chemo again or not.  My fervent prayer request is that my body scan is clear, that I will not have to go on chemo again, and for strength and peace.  I know that God is in control.  He has gotten me through some tough times and will continue to be by my side.  I feel tremendously blessed by all of your faithful prayers for me, for constantly keeping me encouraged and for all the get well wishes.  Thank you very much for the food, cards, making me laugh and flowers!  All of your timing on everything has been just perfect!

Here are a few more pics of Disneyland.....This was on the Buzz Lightyear ride.  It was a fun ride!  This is Jenna and Ryan ready for action.

Prayer requests:  My son Jeff had a lousy weekend.  He got a bad case of the flu (fever/chills/sore throat/cough/etc).  Pray he continues to feel better and that I do not catch it.  I have been sanitizing everything constantly and staying way away from him.  Pray for Lorri Cavins as she has a biopsy today on a lymph node.  Pray that it is nothing and that she will receive good news.  For a friend whose little boy is really sick right now and for another friend whose daughter had eye surgery.  Pray that she recovers quickly from it.

Psalms 36 verse 7:  How precious is your constant love, O God!  All humanity takes refuge in the shadow of your wings.

Read the bible in a year:  Today:  Genesis chapters 48 - 50.  Tomorrow (Jan. 18th)  Exodus 1 -  3.  Can you believe we will be finished with Genesis today?  The stories have been awesome!  If you want to start reading with us, jump right in.  Please get an easy version to read or look up one on-line.  I want to keep you encouraged to read!

Have a marvelous day everyone!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!!

Good Saturday morning!!  I am feeling so much better now.  I still have some swelling but my head is not quite as sore as it has been.  My family and I are off to the desert today to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday.  I am sooooo ready to get out of the house.  I just plan on parking myself next to the campfire, eating, playing with Tyler and hanging out.

I have the sweetest, bestest friends ever.  One of them named Peggy Severe stopped by my house yesterday after work to drop by her famous "earthquake cake."  She knows how much I love them and she is trying to help fatten me up.  Thanks Peg!  It is so good!

Thank you so much everyone for the well wishes!  It truly means a lot to me.  My love to you all.

Here are some more Disney pics.......This first one is of Jenna, Mike and Tyler waiting to get on a ride.

Prayer requests:  Could you all please pray for Lorri Bigger Cavins who has been battling melanoma cancer for awhile.  She is having a biopsy on a lymph node on Monday.  Please pray that it turns out to be nothing and that she will be totally healed of this nasty cancer.  Please also keep Lorri and her family in your prayers for strength.  Also a special request from someone who is waiting on some very important news.  Pray for her to hear soon.

Psalms 34 verses 1, 2 & 3:  I will praise the Lord no matter what happens.  I will constantly speak of his glories and grace.  I will boast of all his kindness to me.  Let all who are discouraged take heart.  Let us praise the Lord together, and exalt his name.

Have a super weekend everyone!!  Relax and enjoy life!!  See you on Monday!!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question......Where is your favorite place to grab a great cheeseburger?
