Good Friday morning!  Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.  Hope you are taking a little time in each day to be thankful for what you have, to enjoy the little blessings and to stop and smell the roses.  How is everyone's week going? 

Oh my head is so sore and swollen.  It is hard to find a comfortable spot to lay on.  Makes sleeping a little difficult so I just end up catnapping a lot during the day.  Other then that I am doing pretty well . I don't have a headache anymore.  I am glad that it is a three day holiday weekend.  It gives me one more day to recover before I go back to work.  Yep.....I get to go back to work on Tuesday!  Thank you all so much for the continuous prayers.  Each day I feel a little bit better.

Great news!!!!  Amy Bo. was given the "all clear" yesterday by her Dr.!!  Praise God and thank you everyone for praying!  Amy, do you have a new appointment?

Prayer requests:  Please continue to pray for those that are looking for a job.  Pray that they find one very soon.  Also there has been a request for someone who is going through a rough child custody battle and would like prayers for it to be resolved soon.

Psalms 33 verses 21 & 22:  No wonder we are happy in the Lord!  For we are trusting him.  We trust his holy name.  Yes, Lord, let your constant love surround us, for our hopes are in you alone.

Read through the bible in a year:  Today.....Genesis chapters 41 & 42.  Tomorrow (Saturday)...Genesis 43 - 45.  Hope you are enjoying this as much as I am.

Good Thursday morning!  Wow!!!  I am blessed beyond measure and am so grateful for God's love and strength.  "Thank you" to each and every one of you for all the prayers for Mike and I yesterday.  Those prayers were heard and answered.    Everything went really well with the gamma knife surgery.  They treated me so wonderful.  I felt God's hand in everything and he gave me strength that I didn't even know that I had to get through this yet another time.  I told the staff it was great seeing them again but that was enough and I really don't want to see them anymore.  They laughed and agreed. (See Mike's update on yesterdays blog to read about what they found and didn't find).

I want to thank my father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank & Jodi and dear friends, Nick & Teri Sulli for sending me gorgeous flowers yesterday!  They smell so good.  So beautiful to look at.  I also want to thank my sister and brother-in-law Monica and Gregg for going above and beyond in taking such good care of Mike and I while we were up there. Also, thank you everyone for all the sweet and encouraging comments, texts, e-mails, calls and cards.  Each and every one means the world to me.  I was so uplifted!

Of course when I got home my sweet grandson Tyler came over to hug and kiss on Nani.  Tyler is the best medicine for me.  Jenna was sweet to take care of dinner for us last night.

I woke up this morning very sore, swollen and bruised.  I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing today but rest and eat.  I still need to gain some weight.

Prayer requests:  Pray that Amy Bonilla's test results are great today.  Please pray that my recovery goes well.  My next thing is a full body PET scan on January 22nd.  Pray for a clean scan.  Thank you!!!  Also for so many people who have the flu right now.  Pray they get over it quickly.

Psalms 20 verses 4 & 5:  May he grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans.  May there be shouts of joy when we hear the news of your victory, flags flying with praise to God for all that he has done for you.  May he answer all your prayers!

Leslie is done with the Gamma Knife and resting comfortably at Gregg & Monica's.  We will eat lunch here and rest for a little while then head back home this afternoon.  Leslie went though with flying colors and kept a smile on her beautiful face the whole time.  Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement, we were surrounded by them. 

There was a change in the treatment plan though;  after the frame was attached to Leslie's head she had a high resolution double-strength contrast MRI.  On further review, they decided not to treat the area they had originally seen!  It is not a tumor but rather an area between 2 previously treated tumors that recieved a higher dose of radiation last time.  This area had a reaction that is fairly common 1 1/2 to 2 years after the Gamma Knife procedure.  This is good news!  BUT, with this high resolution MRI they did find 3 TINY tumors that had not been seen before.  We don't know if these are new tumors, or if they have been there all along and finally got big enough to detect.  At any rate, they treated those 3 spots and now they are gone.  We have an appointment with Dr McClay later this month and with Dr Ott next month, we hope to learn more then.

4:00p.m.  UPDATE:  My appointments went well today.  I'm as ready as I ever will be for tomorrow.  Thank you for your continuous prayers.  The Gamma Knife Drs. and staff are so very kind and helpful.

Good Tuesday morning!!  Mike and I are off to San Diego this morning.  I am feeling the prayers!  Please keep them coming.  Thank you so very much for the outpouring of love and encouragement.  I do feel so very blessed by God.  He has given me the best family and friends in the world!  Thanks also to my co-workers yesterday.  I appreciated the surprise in the morning and everything you did and have done for me.  Hugs to everyone!

I will be doing my pre-op stuff today and then tomorrow I will check in at 6:30 a.m.  They will prep me for the "Gamma Knife" machine (which is the hardest and most painful part) and they will start that procedure at 8:30 a.m.  My sister Monica will be blogging on Wednesday with up-dates.  I expect to be home by Wednesday evening.  I can do this.  I have my boxing gloves on and am ready.

I would like to wish my sweet Mom a very 'Happy Birthday" today!!  Have a great day Mom and try not to worry about me too much.  I will be fine and I am in great hands.  Since I won't be the one blogging tomorrow I would also like to wish a very "Happy Birthday" tomorrow (12th) to my Father-in-law Frank, to my Aunt MaryAnn and to my friend Denise Rogers!!  Wow!!  Three birthdays!  Have an awesome day you three!!

Prayer requests:  Continued prayer for some parents who are dealing with some very hard issues with their teenager.  They are having to deal out a lot of tough love.  That is not easy for anyone and is very stressful.  Please pray for God's guidance and wisdom for them to make the right decisions and for direction on what to do next.  Also let's keep in our prayers all the victims and loved ones of that awful shooting tragedy in Tucson, Arizona.

Psalms 9 verses 1&2:  O Lord, I will praise you with all my heart, and tell everyone about the marvelous things you do.  I will be glad, yes, filled with joy because of you.  I will sing your praises, O Lord God above all gods.

Question........Favorite Disney character?????

Good Monday morning everyone!  How was your weekend?  We had a fantabulous weekend!!  This year for Christmas our whole extended family decided not to spend money exchanging gifts.  Instead we saved the money so we could all go on a trip together to Disneyland.  We had a blast!  My brother-in-law Gregg (Monica's hubby) had never been and it was Tyler's first time.  It was great to see their faces and expressions while we were there.  Tyler did great!  He didn't quite know what to think about some of the rides but just took everything in.  I will have pictures all week of our trip.  Here are a couple of group pics that we took.  Somehow I missed getting my nephew Chris and his girlfriend Samantha in a picture but they were there too.  Oh Yeah...and it was Yolanda's birthday too!  She had a great birthday!  The first pic is at the Disneyland entrance.  The second one is in Toon Town.

I was giving God big "THANKS" that we were able to take this trip together.  I was so thankful for so many moments that day!  Mostly for all the laughing we did.  I cherish it.  It was awesome to do before all my medical stuff starts.

The BIG day for me is this Wednesday.  Mike and I are leaving Tuesday morning for my pre-op stuff and then I report to the gamma knife center at Scripps La Jolla at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.  The procedure will take place at 8:30.  Am I nervous?  Yes, because I know what to expect and what is coming.   Please pray that all goes smooth, that I have a quick recovery and that I won't be in too much pain afterwards.  Mostly I ask that you pray for Mike.  It is very difficult for him to see me have to go through this again.  He is my rock and I thank God everyday for the strength He gives to Mike.

CONGRATS Sami Morgan on getting published!!  Woohoo!!  Happy Dancing here!!

Prayer requests:  For a friend who had a baby boy a couple of days ago and who is in Children's Hospital in San Diego with some health problems.  Pray for both momma and baby.  I also received a prayer request for a woman who is pregnant with twins.  She needs prayer that her babies will stay inside of her for at least 3 more weeks.  She has been having contractions.

Psalms 7 verse 17:  Oh, how grateful and thankful I am to the Lord because he is so good.  I will sing praise to the name of the Lord who is above all lords.

Reading the bible in a year....today: Genesis chapters 30-31 and tomorrow Genesis chapters 32-34.  I want to keep you encouraged to keep on reading.  If you fall behind that is okay.  Just start again with us today.  For those of you who haven't started and would like to we have read most of the book of Genesis so far.
