Good Friday morning!!  Yay!!  I am ready for the weekend.  Speaking of weekend, I am going to be taking this weekend off from blogging too.  I am not looking to take weekends off but I will be out of town on Saturday.  So what are everyone's plans for the weekend?

I just want to thank so many of you for your sweet encouragement to me.  The last couple of days I have been tremendously blessed by friends in more ways then I can say.  Whether it has been personally, by phone, e-mail or cards you have all said just the right thing at the most perfect time.  That is no coincidence.......God is in control.  My deepest love to you all!

Here are a few pictures of Tyler and Wyatt at Wyatt's first birthday party.  This one Tyler decided to get in on the cake action and help feed Wyatt some birthday cake. haha!  Next to Wyatt is his mommy Tanya.

Prayer requests: Continued peace, strength and comfort for families who have lost a loved one.  Please also continue to pray for those that are suffering from a dibilitating illness.  Pray for strength for them and their loved ones.  Pray that they find a little bit of joy in each day.  Let's keep them encouraged.

Ephesians 6 verse 18:  Pray all the time.  Ask God for anything in line with the Holy Spirits wishes.  Plead with him, reminding him of your needs, and keep praying earnestly for all Christians everywhere.

Again, thank you for your prayers for Samuel.  If you would like to send little Samuel an e-card here is how to do it.  It is so easy to do.  He just loves getting them.  Please take a minute to do this.  You know how much cards brightened a persons day!  http://www.chp.edu/CHP/Home  *just click this link and click on the left side of the page where it says "e-cards"; they will hand deliver the cards to him. Include his full name, Samuel Lindell and his room number 939 in the correct places*

Reading Bible in a year chapters... Friday Jan. 7th, Genesis 22-24, Saturday Jan. 8th, Genesis 25-26, and Sunday Jan. 9th Genesis 27-29.  I have to say that I am really enjoying this.  I sure hope you are too.

Have a fantabulous day and weekend everyone!! See you Monday! Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question......Name 3 things about nature that you find the most beautiful.

No matter how steep the mountian---the Lord is going to climb it with you.--Helen Steiner Rice

Good Thursday morning!!  How is your week going?  A big thanks to everyone for all of the concern and prayers yesterday.  The individuals who asked for prayer are so thankful to all of you for keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.

On a happy note, my sister-in-law Noni is doing really well after her knee surgery.  The Dr. is very impressed with her progress so far.  My other friend who had surgery is doing well too.  All of her tests came back benign.  Praise God!!  Also one of the marriages that we have been praying for is doing so much better too.  And the woman who we prayed for that left an abusive relationship is doing well.  It is still hard for her but she is hanging in there.

Okay.....I have an exciting assignment for you all today.  Let's all do a "random act of kindness" for someone today.  It can be anything!!  Big or small.  You don't have to tell me what you did,  just do one. The kindness will come back to you big time.  Everyone who reads this blog entry today is going to make a lot of people smile today!  Love it!!

Here are a couple of pics of Tyler playing with Nani.  He is putting the blanket on his head and I am saying "Where's Tyler?"

Tyler 80

He giggles and throws the blanket off his head and I say "There he is!!"  By the way, my sweet friend Shelly Osuna made that Charger blanket for me.  It is so soft and warm.  Love it Shelly!

Prayer requests:  For all of our family and friends who are suffering from cancer.  Pray for strength to fight and that they will be fully healed with no reoccurances.  Continued prayer for little Samuel Lindell.  It is up and down and touch and go for him, but the latest report is he was doing a little better.  Also remember to continue to pray for Electra who is still recovering from her accident.  Also Randi Ryan's father-in-law Steve and his fiancee Janice who are still recovering from their car accident too.

Hebrews 10 verse 24:  In response to all he has done for us, let us outdo each other in being helpful and kind to each other and in doing good.

Reading bible in a year:  Today Genesis 19 - 21.  Tomorrow (Jan. 7) is Genesis 22 - 24.

Have a super day everyone!!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!!

Question.......What did you have for breakfast this morning??  For me it was cereal (Honey Bunches of Oats) and coffee.

Good Wednesday morning!!  I really feel the need this morning to start the blog off with  prayer requests.  I have an anonymous URGENT prayer request from someone that would like all of our prayer warriors to be praying for them all day today.  Please especially keep them in prayer for strength.  I will keep you posted on this.  Also could your pray for my friend Becky Gibbs' nephew Jack, who is 9 months old and has had croup and was taken to the ER last night because he was having breathing difficulties.  Pray that he starts to get better fast.  Also for our Uncle Del who is having  terrible headache problems.  He had a CAT scan done on his neck yesterday.  Please pray that the Drs. can figure out soon what is causing them and that he will get relief from them soon.  Aunt Evelyn....if you need any help on Del's diet for his blood sugar let Jenna know.  She would be glad to help.  There is also a prayer request from someone who needs a job very badly.  Please pray that one will become available to them soon.  The situation is causing a great deal of stress.  One last request, for a friend's daughter who had eye surgery.  That her eyes will feel better very soon.

I do want to let you know that the friend of mine that you prayed for that had surgery recently is doing better and will be released from the hospital soon. Thank you for praying for her and continue to keep her in your prayers as she recovers.  I also forgot to tell you that the surgery on Amy Bonilla's arm went well.  She is sore but doing good.  Please continue to keep her in your prayers that her arm heals quickly and that she will receive great news that all the edges are clean when she goes back to the Dr. next week.  THANK YOU FOR PRAYING PRAYER WARRIORS!!  What an awesome God we have!

Here is part of a devotional that Angel Linda gave me yesterday.  Thanks Linda!  We all need to read this........While your trials are many and you have been battered by some brutal storms, remember that God knows. In Him, you can be a storm survivor! And when you are face-to-face with a storm, YOU ARE STANDING ON THE EDGE OF A MIRACLE. Don't tell God how big your storm is. Tell your storm how big your God is! Stand firm!

Aunt Edith.....Thank you for the beautiful prayer.  You ROCK!!

Here is my latest Tyler picture.  Tyler LOVES Uncle Jeff.  He thinks he is the greatest and lights up whenever he sees him.  When Jeff is home he likes to go into his room and hang out with him. Well now Tyler knows how to open doors and this is the door to Jeff's bedroom.  Jeff wasn't home at the time so I had to tell Tyler "no, you can't go in there right now."  He was crushed and this was his reaction.  Poor little guy....

Tyler 79

I received an e-mail from one of Dr. McClay's nurses who just wanted to let me know that she was praying for me.  Is that cool or what?  Thank you nurse Amy!!

Gaynell.....love the idea of giving out the bible reading a day ahead too.  Some of us do read early in the morning.  So here is today's: Genesis Chapters 16 - 18 and tomorrow's: Genesis 19 -21.  I will post it this way from now on.

1 Thessalonians 5 :16 & 17..... Always be joyful.  Always keep on praying.

Have a wonderful day everyone.  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question....Have you ever built a snowman???

Good Tuesday morning!! It was great getting back into the routine of work again.  I absolutely love the staff that I work with and seeing the kids again was fun!  They were so excited to tell me what they got for Christmas.  I do miss not having my little buddy Tyler with me during the day though.  It makes me feel so good when Jenna told me that after 2 weeks of not seeing his babysitter Sylvia that he was happy to see her again.  She loves him like he is her own and we all love Sylvia!  Tyler is in great hands.

I now have my full body PET scan test day.  It is on Saturday, January 22nd.  That gives me some time to recover from the Gamma Knife procedure that I am having done on the 12th.  I will have an appointment with my oncologist Dr. McClay sometime the week after that.  I will let you know.  My prayer request is that the scan will show that the cancer has NOT spread and that I won't have to start chemo.  One day at a time.....I need to get past the Gamma Knife first.  Please continue to pray for peace for both Mike and I and that anxiety won't rear it's ugly head.

I want you to know how God just keeps on answering all of our prayers.  Every now and then I start to feel a little sad about all that is coming up ahead for me.  I ask God to please keep me encouraged and He does.  Three times I have said, "God I need some encouragement from somewhere right now!"  He sent it to me everytime in ways that I would have never expected.  Three miracles!!!  I literally cry because I feel God's hand in all of this and the encouragement has been so awesome!  So thank you for praying for me......and for being there for me.

Here are the last of the Christmas pictures that I have to show you of Tyler.  This is when I was cleaning up and packing away all of my little Christmas stuffed teddy bear collection.  He was being a big help to Nani....haha!

Tyler 76

Here he is loving on all the teddy bears.

Tyler 77

He climbed into the storage container for my bears so I just started dumping them on him.  He thought that was too funny!

Tyler 78

My San Diego Chargers won their last game on Sunday against the Broncos.  I am sad that they didn't make the playoffs this year.  There is always next year.  Playoff games start this weekend!

Today's bible reading.....Genesis chapters 12 - 15.

Prayer requests:  Two different ladies have asked me for the same prayer request this past week but do not want me to mention what it is.  God knows who they are and what they need.  So if you could lift these ladies up in your prayers for God to help them with what they are struggling through.  They both appreciate your prayers.  ((HUGS)) to you both.

Romans 8 verse 31b:  If God is on our side, who can ever be against us?

Have a terrific day everyone!!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question:  Have you ever tried to make an snow angel in the snow?  Yes I have.

                            HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Good Monday morning!!  How was your weekend?  I can't believe how incredibly fast my two week vacation went by.  I had an awesome 2 weeks off.  Looking forward to seeing my co-workers and the kids today.

Saturday we had the whole Gilbert/Stiegemeyer family Christmas/New Years Day celebration at my in-laws house.  We had the best time.  They had a big fire going outside and we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows and ate lots of good food.  Later after we opened gifts we had a chance to tell and remember funny stories about our Bryan.  We laughed a lot.  We really miss him but it comforts us to know that the memories of him are deep in our hearts and that he is in a better place.

Sunday was Tyler's friend,  Wyatt's 1st birthday!  He had a super fun party and Tyler had a blast.  It is so much fun to watch Tyler playing like a big boy with all the kids.  He played and played and as soon as Jenna and I got him into the car to go home, he was fast asleep.  I took some pics and will share them later this week.

Here is Tyler looking in his Christmas stocking and the next one is his excitement at pulling out a present!

Wow!  The response to reading through the bible in a year has been great!!  If you haven't started yet and still want to, please join us!  Today's bible reading is Genesis, chapters 8 - 11.  You can read the bible on-line too in any version your want.  So far we have read about Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, and Noah and the ark.  I already got some great insights from a friend on what we have read so far.  I am going to learn so much.  If you have any insights you would like to share, please feel free to do so here or e-mail me at leslie@mgilbert.net

Prayer requests: For a friend of mine who is having surgery this morning at 7:15.  That everything will go well and she will have a quick recovery.  Please also lift up in prayer today 3 1/2 year old Samuel Lindell who is battling cancer.  The latest news on him is his heart rate went up, blood pressure dropped, fever of 105.6, vomiting, not eating or drinking and his oxgen levels are off.  This little guy has been hit very hard with chemo and his parents have been on a huge roller coaster ride with his illness.  They have almost lost him several times.  They need prayers for guidance, wisdom and strength.  Understandably they are exhausted.  Take a minute to say a prayer for them all.  Thank you.

Hebrews 13 verse 8:  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Have a marvelous day everyone!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question:  Anyone a snow skier or a snow boarder?  Where do you go to ski?
