LET THE BIRTHDAY FESTIVITIES BEGIN!!!!!  Well, today's Birthday Festivities will be day 2 of chemo but at least we'll have  birthday cake for everyone in the chemo center.  Be sure to post your Birthday Best Wishes here today and I'll read them to Leslie throughout the day, Don't be shy!  Speaking of birthdays, Leslie wants to wish her dear friend Susan Beach a Happy Birthday too.

Last night went well but tonight will be the real test, pray for a good night tonight also.   I will keep you posted.

*UPDATE*  Everything went great today at the chemo center.  The nurses sang to Leslie, all the patients and families saw her "Happy Birthday" balloon tied to her IV pole and wished her happy birthday.  We had some lunch and a quick stop at the beach and we are back at Monica's resting.  Monica had snuck home from work while we were gone and decorated the house with streamers and balloons!  We came home to a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Leslie's aunt Maryann, Leslie says thank you and that she loves you very much.  We also found wonderful birthday packages from Leslie's Chemo Angel (Linda Morgan) and our Aunt Edith, she loves you guys too.  In fact,  Leslie loves all of you and thanks you for all the cards, gifts, and comments.  You have made her birthday so incredibly special.  Just wanted to add in that Leslie just received another gorgeous bouquet of flowers from her dear friend Ginna Gaddis.  She says to thank you so much and that she loves you too.

Thank you for the prayers!  God is good!!

It's 1:30, we're back at Monica's and chemo is all done for the day!  So far, so good.  The MediPort worked out so much better, just one stick and Leslie said she didn't even feel it.  We're getting a head start on the anti-nausea drugs so we hopefully won't have a repeat of last month. 

We want to wish Leslie's brother John a Happy Birthday today.

Leslie came home to 2 beautiful bouquets of flowers today: one from her nephew Chris and one from our dear friends Nick and Teri Sulli.  Thank you so much, they are beautiful.  Mick and Peg, Leslie says thanks for the awesome pillow!  Leslie wants Amy Bo to know that "I always have  'hope' with me".   Thanks Amy!

God is good!

P.S.  Remember that tomorrow is Leslie's birthday so if you want to post a birthday wish to her on this blog tomorrow I will read them all to her when we are done with the chemo tomorrow.  Thanks.

Good Morning!  The time is here again for me to head up to San Diego to begin another round of chemo.  Mentally I am ready and I never thought that I would say that.  I know it is because I have so many people praying for me.  Thank you so much for that.  I am a little anxious though.  Just can't help it.  I don't look forward to what is going to happen in the days ahead but I know that God is going to be with me each step of the way and that is what will get me through. I keep Phil. 4:6 in my head and heart all the time.   Mike will keep everyone updated here.  Please keep my family in your prayers as well during this time.  I see my Dr. at 9:30 tomorrow and my chemo will start at 10:00.  My chemo on Wednesday will start at 10:00 also.  Thank you for being on this journey with me.  The encouragement and uplifting and support and love  that I get from everyone has been tremendous and a real blessing to me and my family.

I am happy to report that I am starting to gain a little more weight again.  I was at a stand still after the port was put in Monday.  Well actually I had lost a little.....but now it is starting to come back.  My sweet daughter Jenna made me a huge and fattening Italian dinner last night with cheesecake for dessert.  It was sooooo good.  My whole extended family will be here this weekend and all we plan to do is eat.  So wish me luck!  I have three days to try and put on two more pounds.  I can do it!!
