God is Good!!

Good morning!  I am feeling better today.  The area where they put the port in is not as sore as it was.  It is still going to take some getting use to.  I had a rough afternoon yesterday.  I had yet another side effect start.  Between that and still trying to recover from the port and knowing my next chemo treatment is coming on Tuesday I was getting a little down.  I asked God to help me get through this, to lift my spirits and give me peace.  Well then a friend shows up and offers tremendous encouragement.  I received very encouraging and funny, laugh out loud cards in the mail and then friends call checking on me and offering encouragement, prayers and laughter. Then I read the encouraging comments on this blog.   When you got all that going on you can't be down for long.  So thanks to all of my dear family and friends for being there with me on this journey each and every step of the way.  I can't do it without you.  Your prayers are such a comfort to me.  I LOVE the cards!!  They really make my day!  I love all of you too!  God answers prayer and He is good!  Have a great day!

Good morning!  I want to thank everyone for keeping me in their prayers yesterday.  Everything went well.  The staff at Pioneers Hospital treated me like a queen.   We did have a hard time starting the IV again but now I do not have to worry about that anymore.  Today I am bruised, sore and tired but doing well.  I am so glad that the port is in and done with.  My appetite is back and I am gaining weight little by little.  Thanks so much to my wonderful brother Donald for taking such good care of me yesterday. Thanks to my sweet daughter Jenna for taking care of me last night.  Mike and Jeff are both starting to feel better too.  Have a great day everyone and remember that God is Good!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

8 am - Leslie is off to OR for the port placement.  Had trouble getting her IV started, I guess that's why we're here.  I will keep you posted today

8:45 am - Out of OR, everything went fine.

9:45 am - She's outta here and on her way home!  The procedure went well with no complications.  They did local anesthesia and IV sedation so there was no general anesthesia, that should make the recovery go better.  Leslie's brother Donald is taking her home and spending the day with her because I have to work today.  Donald threatened to bring his Harley to take her home on but brought the car instead.  Thank you all for your continued prayers.

Just a little reminder that I am going to have outpatient surgery tomorrow to have the port put in.  Please pray for me during that time that everything goes smooth.  I will be at the hospital at 6:00 a.m.  Surgery is suppose to be at 8:30 a.m.  Mike will update you all tomorrow on how everything went.  Please keep Mike and Jeff in your prayers too.  Jeff is sick with a nasty head /chest cold and Mike is feeling like he is getting sick too.  I am staying away from both of them and we are clorox wiping the house down several times a day.  Please pray that I do not catch what they have.

Thank you Gaynell Irving for the wonderful basket full of goodies to eat!  Everything you brought is so good!  The flowers are beautiful too.

Thanks to Noni, Monica, Jenna, Cheryl, Olga, and Patty for the birthday fun last night.  You girls are great and I had so much fun!
