Just wanted to share some pictures I took on the first day of my chemo.  One is of my oncologist Dr. McClay.  He is a very warm, kind and caring man.  I am so blessed that God led me to him.  The other one is of my nurse Tressa.  She will be my nurse everytime and I love her.  She is one of the nicest, sweetest ladies I have met and she is praying for me.  How cool is that?  Of course I am smiling in these pictures.....little did I know what was going to hit me later!  :)

I am doing so much better today.  Mike got me out of the house to drive around a little and to go toTarget.  I never thought that Target wold look so good.  It was great to get to walk around for a while.  I also ran into Kimberly, Joshua and Emily Phillips while I was there.  It was  great seeing you!  Eating is getting better....but I need to do more.  Thanks for your continued prayers.  I know we are all on this journey together and it feels so good to have everyone of you that read this blog on this journey with me.

God is Good!  I am blessed!

Kori and Ginna.....Good job on the acrostic LESLIE.  Loved them both.

Edna Clary......Your card and little gift was exactly what I needed to have and hear on that day.  You are so right.  Thank you for your very encouraging words.Dr McClayTressa

Good Morning!  Just wanted to share with you all something really sweet that my brother Donald did for me yesterday with my name. It will be my slogan for a while.

L -  Living
E - Every
S - Second
L- Like
I- I can
E - Endure anything!

My appetite is getting much better.  I am eating as much as I can.  I even got down a big order of french fries and dipped them in ranch dressing.  I am ready for a special quesedilla with guacamole and beans!

Thanks to my dear friend Peggy Severe for bringing my family out dinner last night.  I treasure all the prayers.  God is listening and He is good!

Good Morning!  This is the first time in a while since I have even felt like looking at or typing on the computer.  Wow.....what an experience that first round of chemo was.  Something I do not want to repeat again.....but unfortunately will have to 3 more times.  It doesn't help to know that with each round the side effects will grow worse and I will have them longer.  The last treatments recovery period is about 2 weeks.  I realized with this first round that I am going to need more care then I thought.  My sweet mom is going to fly out and help take care of me for my last three treatments.  So from now on when I go up for my treatments in San Diego I will be there for two weeks instead of one.  Mike will be there the first week with me and my mom will take over the second week.  My sweet and very dedicated sister Monica will be there the whole time, with Jenna,  Donald & Noni helping out on the weekends.  Jeff is holding down the fort here for us.  My family and I thank you so much for your prayers!  We could not survive without them.  God is good!

Thanks for the cards everyone.  Really.....I love getting them.  Makes my whole day.

Thanks to Kay Kamper for bringing us out dinner last night.

My next prayer request is that I gain weight.  I lost quite a bit and need to put on as much as possible before my next chemo round.  Have a great day!    Leslie  :)

I think there's a light at the end of this month's chemo tunnel!  Leslie is starting to feel better a little at a time.  Nausea is being replaced by heartburn and the fatigue is getting better.  Nights and mornings are still kind of rough but she's doing better in the afternoons and evenings.  She even smiles once in a while, it's good to see flashes of the old Leslie back.  Oral chemo meds are down from 12 pills a day to only 4 pills a day for the next 3 weeks, I think that will help

Leslie has to go in to PMH (local hospital) today for outpatient lab work.  Please pray that goes well.

Leslie still isn't feeling so well.  Nausea, shakiness, tiredness, etc.  Pretty much like having the flu.  She has lost the 8 lbs of water she had gained which is encouraging.  Keep on praying!

A huge thanks to those who brought us food this week; Don & Noni Cones, Dena Scott & Rhonda Counce.
