Good morning!  It is Good Friday!  In case you missed reading my update yesterday....my oncologist is reducing the strength of my chemo when I start back again and on my next IV chemo they will give me a white cell booster shot afterwards.   I just have to be careful and stay away from anyone who is sick and public places.  My next appointment for the bloodwork is next Monday and my next chemo is scheduled for Tuesday depending on Mondays results.

Aunt MaryAnn....that is awesome news!  Congrats to Randy and Bev and the whole family!!  Welcome Faith!!

Today is another kick back day for me hanging out with Mike and doing things around the house.  Tomorrow I will start baking for our big Easter dinner.  Can't wait!  Hope you all have a fabulous Friday!!

UPDATE:  Dr. McClay my oncologist called and said that he is going to reduce the amount of chemo I am taking and after the next IV chemo treatment they will give me a white cell booster shot.  He said that everything I am doing now is right.  Staying away from public places and resting.  Hopefully my levels will be back up by Monday.  If not they will probably be up by the next week and then I will start the chemo again.  Thanks for keeping me in your prayers.  I sure do appreciate it and am so grateful for it!!  See you in the morning!

Good Thursday morning!!  I wish that I had something new to report to you this morning but I don't.  My Oncologist will be in his office today so I will know more after I speak to him.  I may have to wait all day but as soon as I hear somehing I will come back on here and let you know.  I am still feeling fine and have been good and staying in my bubble (home).  It really hasn't been too bad because since I am feeling pretty good I am getting some projects done around the house that I have been wanting to get done for some time now.  Thanks for keeping me in your prayers!

I know of a lot of very excited kids and school staff members because today is the last day of school for 10 days.  Yes.....tomorrow starts spring break around here!  Hope you all have a great time off and a lot of Easter fun with the kids today!  Oooohhhh I miss you all so much!

Also I wanted to let you know that one of the people I asked you to pray for got AWESOME news and everything is going to be okay!!

God is Good!!!!

Good morning.  I don't have very good news to report.  My blood tests came back last night and they were not good.  My white blood cell count, red blood cell count and my platelet counts were all rock bottom.  I mean extremely low.  So all chemo has been stopped.  They will draw blood again next Monday to see if the levels have improved.  The Oncologist  here said that my body needs more time to heal itself.  Unfortunately it was too late for my Oncologist in San Diego to see the results and he doesn't work on Wednesdays.....so I won't know what the next step is until he comes back on Thursday.  I may be having both red and white cell booster shots or even a platelet transfusion.  Not sure of anything yet.

In the meantime they have warned me that I have NO IMMUNE SYSTEM right now and that I have to be extremely careful.  It is really by the grace of God that I have not gotten sick in these last two weeks with all I have done and all the people I have been around.  So I have to be extremely careful now and wait and see what happens on Thursday.  The funny thing about all of this is that I feel good.  Why are my levels so low?  It was the chemo.

So could you please pray that my levels improve and that I do not get sick.  Getting sick at this point I would probably end up in the hospital.  Also that I have patience with all of this.  This is already setting me back a week, possibly two and who knows when they eventually continue treatments how long I will be set back after this round.

On a good note......while I was at the hospital yesterday I was able to go with my daughter to get a sonogram and I got to see and hear my grandbaby's heartbeat.  It was awesome!!  The baby was moving around like crazy.  Very active.  Everything looked great.  I got a picture and you couldn't wipe the smile from my face! :)  I so thank God for that ray of sunshine during all of this hardship.

That is a few of the many pics I took.  We had a super time.  Today I have to go to the hospital for some extensive blood work.  Tomorrow is my chemo at 8:30 a.m.  Here we go........please keep me in your prayers.  Thanks for all of your encouragement to me.  I couldn't do this without you all going through this journey with me.

Good Monday morning!!  It is great to be back home but we did have the best little 4 day vacation!  What a great way to end my two week chemo break!  The weather was slightly cool but gorgeous! Santa Maria is so full of green rolling hills sitting across the street from the ocean.  I will hopefully have some pictures to post for you tomorrow.  The wedding was beautiful and everything went perfect for Lacey & Matt.  On Friday we had some time to sight see and we decided to go to Solvang.  It is such a cute little Danish town.  We went through tons of little shops, toured a mission,  ate and rented a bicycle built for four.  (Picture of that tomorrow).  There are also tons of strawberry fields and we ate the freshest most delicious strawberries.  We had fun with our family and our friends, the Lyon's and the Van Leeuwen's.  Thanks Jeff and Cheryl for the fun time on Friday night.  We had a blast!

I started the chemo last night.  We are doing my schedule a little different this time and we are going to see if that helps me to not be so sick during the day.  Thank you very much for the prayers!!  I was ready to start the chemo again.  I know this 6 weeks won't be easy but I know that I can get through it.  I have a HUGE prayer request that I haven't mentioned yet.  My first IV chemo appointment is this Wednesday.  The drug they have been giving me has been going well so far.  But now is the time where it can come back and get me.  They say that this drug is famous for all of a sudden turning on you and giving  you the biggest allergic reaction.  So my prayer request is that this does not happen and that I can get through another six weeks.  This combination of chemo seems to be working for me and I would hate for that to change.  God is in control!
