Good Monday morning!!  How was your weekend?  Except for having to get the PET scan my weekend was wonderful!!  Thank you all for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers while I was having the test done.  Everything went really well.  They even got the vein in my arm on the first try!  I was so hungry when the test was done and I ate a ton afterwards.  I get the results from my oncologist this Thursday.  Please pray for a clean scan.  THANK YOU!!

Saturday night was my my brother Donald and sister-in-law Noni's 25th wedding anniversary party.  It was a Hawaiian luau theme and their backyard was beautiful!  They really went all out and we all felt like we were in Hawaii.  We had so much fun. They couldn't of picked a better evening to have an outdoor party......the weather was perfect.  The food was incredible!  I don't think you could name something that wasn't there.  Donald and Noni really know how to put on a good party. Here is a picture of the happy couple with their handsome son Chris.  I have a lot more pictures to share with you and I will this week. 

Nanie and Tyler spent Sunday afternoon together while Ryan and Jenna went on a movie date.  He and I just played and played.  He cracks me up all the time.  The best feeling in the world though is my cuddle time with him.  Oh he is so sweet!  I love hearing him talk and sing too.

I want to wish my brother-in-law Mark a very "Happy Birthday" today!!  It is getting so hard to take a picture with Tyler holding a sign now because he wants to tear it apart.  So we ended up putting it on top of his head where he couldn't see it. lol  Have a great day today Mark!!

Good Saturday morning!  How come when you know you can't eat.... that all you think of is food? Ha! Ha!  Yep....no food for me until about 2:30 or 3:00 this afternoon.  I am so ready to get this PET scan done and over with.  Thank you to everyone for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers today.  My appointment with my oncologist is this Thursday to get the results.  You all already know what I will be doing during the scan.....I want you to know that I received all the latest prayer requests on my e-mail and I will be praying!

As soon as I get home we will be getting ready and going to Donald and Noni's 25th wedding anniversary party.  I know the food will be awesome and I will definitely make up for what I didn't eat today.

Are there any Scrabble fans out there?  I love to play but beating my sister Monica or my mom is really hard.  They are both good at it.  I think it is a great game to play with your kids.  Helps in the spelling department!  :)

Good morning!  It is Friday!!  WooHoo!  I have a lot going on this weekend.  My brother Donald and sister-in-law Noni are having a 25th wedding anniversary party on Saturday night.  So looking forward to that and spending time with the whole family.  Congrats again Donald and Noni on 25 years of marriage!

My PET scan is tomorrow at 12:00.  I will be there a long time so you know that I will be praying to pass the time away.  So if you have a prayer request please let me know and I will be praying.  leslie@mgilbert.net  Thanks again everyone for praying for me!

I have a quick story to share.  When we left for San Diego on Tuesday night the low air in the tire light came on in my car.  On our way out of town Mike put air in it and off we went.  By the time we got to Monica's the tire was low on air again but it was too late to go anywhere to get it looked at and fixed.  So Mike went to the store and bought some fix a flat in hopes that it would do until I got past my appointment time at Hoag.  When we got up in the morning the tire was fine so off we went.  The tire was absolutely fine until I went to go to work yesterday morning and low and behold the tire was absolutely flat.  Mike went to fix it and found it had a nail in it!  A nail was in it the whole time!  Mike and I always say a prayer in our driveway before we take off on our trips for safety.  God held that tire together until we returned home.  How grateful I was for the timing of that.  Whew.....thank you God!

I want to wish a very "Happy Birthday" to my friends Teri Sulli and Gina Cosio!!  Have a super fun day girls!!  Just a side note.....Teri Sulli and I have been close friends since the first grade when we lived in Tujunga, California together.  We both moved after the fifth grade......her to Carson City, Nevada and me to the Imperial Valley.  We have stayed in touch this whole time.  We got married the same year  to our husbands who are the same age (5 days apart), had daughters the same year and had sons the same year.  We have spent many family vacations together and she and her family are so dear to our family!  Miss you Nick and Teri!

So what do you do when you are traveling through the mountains and one of your ears doesn't pop?  I have never had trouble with that before but with all of these trips back and forth through the mountains I have been having a lot of trouble with my left ear not popping.  Sometimes it won't clear until the next day.  I tried chewing gum and drinking water but it didn't work.  Any other advice?

Good morning!!  Everything yesterday went great!  I had some blood work done and another melanoma vaccine shot.  I received the results to my latest blood work from Hoag and I was so surprised to see that my white cell counts, red cell counts and my hemoglobin were still low.  They are creeping up slowly and are getting close to being in the normal range but still not there yet.  Thank the Lord that I feel so good and have energy!  Looking forward to feeling even better when they get into normal range. When they said it would be a slow recovery they weren't kidding!  Good news is that my platelets are finally in the normal range!  Next thing on my medical agenda.......my PET scan on Saturday.  Thanks everyone for your prayers!!

Our trip on our way home yesterday was interesting weather wise.  We had sunshine, heavy rain, saw some snow patches in the PIne Valley area and then back to a very windy Imperial Valley.  Talk about experiencing various changes in one trip.  Crazy!

I would like to ask you to pray for a few people right now.  My friend Lorri Cavins who is fighting melanoma cancer and going through treatments right now could use our prayers for strength and healing.  I know she treasures all of the prayers.  Also my friend Vicki's mom fell and broke her hip and had surgery yesterday for it but her blood pressure dropped and is now in ICU.    Also my friend Bill Cartwright for continued strength.  I know they treausre your prayers too!

My American Idol friends.....what did you think of last nights show?  I always like the American Idol gives back shows.  Tim was eliminated.  I was thrilled because my top 4 choices are still in.  I have chosen Crystal from the beginning to win, but wouldn't mind if Lee won too.  Only 6 left!

If you could travel back in time to an event in the bible.....which one would you like to travel to and see?

Good morning!!  Have you hugged someone today and told them that you loved them?  If you haven't yet..... before you go to bed tonight make sure you do.  Now you might all be asking why I am asking that question.  Well I have had many prayer requests lately and a lot of the requests are from people who are going through such a hard time right now and could really use a hug (and of course our prayers).  They need to know that we are here for them and will help them in any way we can.  A simple hug.....thats all......and it is free.  Now I know some of you might be saying that you are not a hugger.  Well I say to you to step outside of your comfort zone and try it.  The hug that you get back in return is awesome!  Besides.....we ALL remember a time where a hug from a friend or family member made the difference in our day.   Okay.....I will step off of my soapbox for now.  :)

Mike and I are off to San Diego tonight and will be at Hoag hospital tomorrow.  I have received so much encouragement from you all and I want to say again "THANK YOU!!!!"  Here is my BIG  (((((((((((HUG)))))))))) to you!!

My sister-in-law Lori who has breast cancer is going in for a lumpectomy on May 3rd.  They are hoping they can get it all then and maybe only have to do radiation treatments.  The Dr. won't know until they do the surgery.  She sure does appreciate all of your prayers.  The other breast that they did a biopsy on was cancer free.  Praise God!

Here is my Tyler picture today.  It was bath time and Nanie wanted to get a couple of pictures of him.  He was splashing water everywhere and playing while his daddy Ryan was trying to wash him.  He saw me with the camera and seriously stopped, smiled, and posed for this picture.  What a ham!  He LOVES bath time!

Another verse from Psalms:  Chapter 17 verse 15  But as for me, my contentment is not in wealth but in seeing you and knowing all is well between us.  And when I awake in heaven, I will be fully satisfied, for I will see you face to face.
