Good morning!!  Prayers were answered......no earthquakes during school yesterday.  Of course that was the big topic for the day.  I heard lots of stories from the kids on where they were when the 7.2 hit and what fell and broke etc. from their houses.  A lot of kids told me that they prayed a bunch of prayers that God would stop shaking the earth.  Poor things.....I know how much it scared me and I know it really scared them too.  I am praying that there are no more tremors.  I am very ready to get stuff put back where it belongs.

Welcome back home to my brother Donald and sister-in-law Noni!  They went to Hawaii for their 25th wedding anniversary and had a blast!  I can't wait to see your pictures!

When I was very sick going through the chemo treatments and was mentally stressed, I found myself reading chapters from the book of Psalms from the bible. It was very comforting to me.  There are 150 chapters in Psalms and  I found at least one thing in each chapter that really stuck out to me.  I underlined them and wanted to share a couple with you each day.  I am taking these from the living bible version for easier understanding.  Chapter1 verse 6a.....For the Lord watches over all the plans and paths of godly men.  Chapter 2 verse 12b......But oh, the joys of those who put their trust in Him! 

I know of a few people who are going through some real hard stuff right now so I hope some of this will bring you encouragment and comfort too.  Please know that I truly care and am praying faithfully.  Remember if you need prayer for anything e-mail me at leslie@mgilbert.net

Good Monday morning!!  How was your weekend? I had such a wonderful weekend and spring break......minus the earthquakes.  I spent a lot of time with my most favorite people in the world, my family.  It was so much fun having Tyler this week while Jenna was at work.  Lifting him is a real workout with my arm muscles which is really good for me.  My muscles are finally building up again and I am feeling stronger all of the time.  I spent a lot of time outside on our deck (completely shaded of course), saw a couple of movies, went out to eat, shopped with gift certificates that I got for my birthday, did some scrapbooking and got caught up with things at home.  I did some spring cleaning and got some bags ready for the Salvation Army.  I also started a book too. 

I am as ready to be back to work as I am going to be.  I would like to ask you all for prayers for our area this week because schools are back in session today and we are still having some tremors.  We were so blessed that we had no school this week with all of the aftershocks and tremors that we have been having.  I am sure that some of the kids will be scared.  I think we all get nervous if we aren't with our family members when the quakes happen. 

Guess what my son Jeff did on Saturday?  He and some of his friends went skydiving!!  They all loved it.  Ryan's sister Angela jumped too and she took some pictures.  When I get some from her I will post on here.  I didn't know he was doing it until after the fact which was great with me.  I would of been a nervous wreck if I had known ahead of time.  I know it was something that Jeff always wanted to try so I am glad he finally did.  But.....you won't ever catch me doing that!  I have no desire to do that at all!

This Friday is when I go and see my neurosurgeon and get the results finally to my brain scan.  Would you please remember to keep me in your prayers this week that the results are good? I treasure all of your prayers and very much appreciate them!

Good morning!  Oh darn....it is Friday already.  Usually I am saying, Yay....it's Friday and I am ready for the weekend!  This vacation has just passed by way too fast.  I have really enjoyed my time off.....well except when the earth is shaking.  Speaking of which we had a 5.5 aftershock yesterday.  Really wish the shaking would stop soon.

I have a friend who is having surgery this morning and I wanted to ask you all to keep her in your prayers that everything goes smooth and she recovers quickly.

My friend Mary Jo is here visiting from Indiana and came by to see me yesterday.  Had such a nice visit with you MJ.  Happy that you got to see Tyler too!

It's time to send out cards again.  So when you are at the store this weekend pick one or two up and send them out.  We all know of someone who needs to know that we are thinking of them and praying for them.  Wow Angel Linda......8 cards is awesome!  You go girl!

Good morning!  How is your week going?  Mine is going really well.  I do wish that the little tremors that we are still having would go away.  Everyone is a little more nervous when they happen because we all keep bracing ourselves to run outside in case it gets bad again.  I still do not have everything back in its place yet.  I am waiting for the shaking to stop for a good few days before I do.

My days are so fun with Tyler and Mike is off for a few days so it has been great spending time with him too.  It's awesome that we don't have to go to any medical appointments this week!!!!!  I am enjoying it while I can because starting next week the appointments start again.  I do thank God for the wonderful medical care that I receive and the great medical staff that I have met along the way.  I have met some really amazing people on this journey who have not only taken great care of me but who inspire me too.  Who knows.....maybe someday my fear of needles will go away......NOT!!!  :)

Yay.... Big Mike was saved on American Idol for next week.  I can't believe he was at the bottom.   I was so surprised.  I thought he would be in the top 5 for sure.  Shows you what I know!  Ha! Ha!

My friend Bill Cartwright did real well during the procedure yesterday and is home and resting comfortably.  Thank you all for keeping him and his family in your prayers.  I know what he went through was hard.....but he is one strong man who I admire. 

I ran across this quote that I want to share with you:  Happiness isn't about what happens to us---it's about how we perceive what happens to us.  It's that knack of finding a positive for every negative, and viewing a setback as a challenge.  If we can just stop wishing for what we don't have, and start enjoying what we do have, our lives can be richer, more fulfilled---and happier.  The time to be happy is now.

Good morning!  It is Wednesday already!  How come the days seem to fly by when you are off on vacation?  I am really enjoying my time with Tyler this week.  I think I am going to be one very sad Nanie when I go back to work on Monday and I don't have my little side kick with me.  I am going to watch him this summer while I am off from school too.  Can you imagine how I will be by the end of the summer?  I will have serious Tyler withdrawals for sure!  He is at such a fun age.  Love hearing him laugh, babble and watching him play.  His smile makes my heart melt.  Yep.....he has this Nanie (and his Poppi) wrapped around his little finger for sure!  Mike is off for the next couple of days so Tyler will be extra spoiled.  Like I have said before.....we want to spoil him with time, love and adventures!  Here is another pic of him being funny!

Mike and I have to take my car into the shop today.  Unfortunately my car was one of the ones that was massively recalled for a possible sticking gas pedal.  Yes, I have a Toyota Camry.  Love that car too.  Happy that I haven't had any problems with it at all. 

Could you all please keep my friend Bill Cartwright in your prayers today?  He is having the gamma knife procedure done to his brain tumors that they found.  I am so thankful that they have this awesome technology to do such incredible things!

American Idol fans....what did you think about last nights show?  My favs....Crystal, Lee, Big Mike and Casey all did well.  I still think Tim should go next.  What do you think?
