If you happen to be looking at my blog tonight will you please pray that Dr. McClay (my oncologist) gets my PET scan results for my 10:00 appointment tomorrow (Tuesday)?  The scan should have been read and sent by now but it hasn't.  There will be no point in seeing Dr. McClay if he doesn't have the scan.  I will still have to see my neurosurgeon at 2:00 though.  I know God is in control and He has His hand in this.  I am a little stressed about it though.  I would hate to wait for another date to get my results.  Thanks everyone.  Love you!

My Child.....Nothing will ever separate you from my love again.  (Romans 8: 38 - 39 says....For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love.  Death can't, and life can't.  The angels won't, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God's love away.  Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, or where we are--high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean--nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.) --God's Love Letter

Good Monday morning!  How was your weekend?  We had a really nice weekend.  My PET scan on Saturday morning went the smoothest it has ever gone.  I pray the whole time I am in the scanning machine and before I know it they are pulling me out to say that I am done.  Thank you for praying for me.  I felt such peace.  Mike and I had a fun date night on Saturday night with a movie and some Father's day shopping.

Sunday morning was a VBS finale with the parents.  It was great!  This past week we had about 250 kids and 100 adult helpers praising God with singing, worship, games, crafts etc...  To be in a church sanctuary with that many kids excited to be there and singing their little hearts out was AWESOME!  I was so blessed to be a part of that.  Each and every kid left there knowing that Jesus loves them so much!

We then celebrated Father's Day with Mike and Ryan.  We always have a lot of fun together.  It was a perfect ending to the weekend.  Here is one of the Father's Day pics....Tyler in his train engineer outfit and Poppi in the background are playing and laughing.

Father's Day 01

Tomorrow morning Mike and I take off to San Diego to see both my oncologst and my neurosurgeon to get the results to my PET scan and brain scans.  We really cherish all the prayers that are being lifted up to God on our behalf.  Thank you.  Your support means the world to us.  I won't be blogging tomorrow morning.  I will update you as soon as I can tomorrow.  One appointment is at 10:00 and the other is at 2:00. So sometime in the afternoon hopefully my sister can update you.

Prayer requests:  I still have prayer requests for jobs.  Please pray that those that are looking will find one soon.  Also for someone who is having surgery this week.  Pray that it will go smoothly and that he will recover quickly.  Also for comfort for my mother-in-law Jodi and her family over the recent passing of her Uncle Paul.

Isaiah 40 verses 28  & 29:  Don't you yet understand?  Don't you know by now that the everlasting God, the Creator of the farthest parts of the earth, never grows faint or weary?  No one can fathom the depths of his understanding.  He gives power to the tired and worn out, and strength to the weak.

Read the bible in a year:  Today.....Psalms  36 - 39.  Tuesday......Psalms 40 - 45.

Have a marvelous day everyone!!  Today is another wonderful gift from God and He is so Good!

Question:  What is the name of the latest book you are reading?  I am reading..... Heaven Is For Real, by Todd Burpo.  I am almost done with it.  If anyone wants to read it let me know and I will get it to you.  Very good book.

12:00 UPDATE...PET scan went great.  Got IV in on the first try again! Thank you for your prayers!  GOD IS GOOD!

My Child.....Jesus' death was the ultimate expression of my love for you.  (1John 4:10 says.....In this act we see what real love is:  it is not our love for God, but his love for us when he sent his Son to satisfy God's anger against our sins.) ---God's Love Letter

Good Saturday morning!!  I am as ready as I am ever going to be to go in and get this PET scan done and over with.  I have to be at the hospital at 8:30 this morning.  Thanks to everyone of you for praying for me.  Thanks for all the sweet, encouraging and thoughtful cards, notes, e-mails and comments.  God takes such great care of me by using you all to do that.  Mike is taking me out afterwards to eat and to see the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie.  I hear it is pretty good.  I will update when my scan is done to let you all know how it went later today.

The last night of Vacation Bible School was amazing!  Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put this on for the kids.  The church was packed with kids.   I would also like to mention Christina Adamek's name.  She took the time to come from her home in San Diego to spend the week helping us out too.  Thanks Christina!  It was a fun week and it looked like your family was having fun too.

My church family is awesome.  I received a ton of hugs last night and was told by many that they were praying for me tomorrow and will continue to on Tuesday also.  They are such a caring bunch who I adore.

Here are a couple pictures of Jenna and Tyler checking on Jenna's garden.  It is growing nicely.  She is growing cucumbers, tomatos, peppers, carrots, onions and watermelons.

Sunday is Father's Day and we will be spoiling Mike and Ryan that day!  Jenna and Jeff are blessed with a great Father who loves them so much and Tyler is blessed by Ryan who loves him to pieces.  Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!  Hope you have a very fun and relaxing day!

Take the time today to reflect on the many answered prayers and blessings that we all receive.  I am so thankful for all of you out there lifting  many people up in prayer to God that you don't even know.  God knows who they are and he hears each and every prayer that we pray to him.  If you ever need prayer for anything please let me know.  I will keep it anonymous if you would like.  leslie@mgilbert.net

1 Peter 5 verses 6 & 7:  If you will humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, in his good time he will lift you up.  Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

My Child.....I came to demonstrate that I am for you, not against you.  ( Romans 8:31 says.....What can we ever say to such wonderful things as these?  If God is on our side, who can ever be against us?) ---God's Love Letter

Good Friday morning!!  How has your week been going?  Whew.....what a fun week I have been having!  Thank you for the prayers for me yesterday for everything to go smooth with my brain scan.  The nurse was able to get my IV in on the first try!  Woohoo!  Brain scan went fine.  I was able to make it to Vacation Bible School on time too.  Please continue to pray for good results on Tuesday.  Coming up.....my PET scan on Saturday.

The last night of Vacation Bible School is tonight and I am going to miss it.  The program has been awesome and the kids are great fun.  It is such a wonderful way for the kids to get to know who God is and learn more about Him and His love for them.  I am very thankful and it has been such perfect timing to be as busy as I was this week.  It keeps my mind occupied and I don't think at all about all the medical stuff that I have coming up.

This week has also brought about a couple of HUGE blessings for me that I will have to share with you sometime in the future.  I just have to say how good God is and how he keeps me so uplifted and encouraged and fills me full of HOPE!  TIMING is the best way I can describe all the wonderful things that have come my way.  GOD'S TIMING is so PERFECT!

Here are a couple more pictures of Tyler playing at Family Treehouse.  Here he is running down the gym mats giggling.

This morning Mike and I will be attending Jaime Obeso's celebration of life service.  Jaime was a freind and classmate of Mike's who tragically passed away last week.  Please continue to keep his family in your prayers for peace and comfort and strength to get through this day and everyday.

Prayer requests:  For Lorri Cavins who is having a PET scan done today and is getting her results on Monday.  Pray that she gets nothing but great news and that the chemo is working.  Also for Paula Larson who is in a San Diego ICU with bleeding on the brain.  Pray for her Drs. and for her family too.

Habakkuk 2 verse 3:  But these things I plan won't happen right away.  Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled.  If it seems slow, do not despair, for things will surely come to pass.  Just be patient!  They will not be overdue a single day!

Read the bible in a year:  Today......Psalms 21 - 25.  Saturday......Psalms 26 - 31.

Have a fantabulous day everyone!!!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question.....Can someone tell me how you make the solid hearts on the computer?  I have no idea how you do that and would love to know.  Thanks!

My Child.....When you are brokenhearted, I am close to you.  (Psalms 34:18 says....The Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking; he rescues those who are humbly sorry for their sins.) ---God's Love Letter

Good Thursday morning!!  This week is flying by for me.  I wanted to take the time to thank you all so much for keeping me and all of my upcoming medical tests and results in your prayers.  This afternoon at 4:00 I will be getting my brain scan.  Pray that they can find a vein on the first try for the IV.  It will be a crazy day for me today.  I will have Tyler until 3:00, then head to PMH to do my scan, then head to church for Vacation Bible School.  Again....thank you for your prayers.  I am feeling good and am praying for great results next week.

If you would like to send a birthday card to little Samuel who we have been praying for and has been fighting cancer and is now doing better, I wanted to give you all his address.  He is turning 5 years old.  Samuel Lindell  2410 Conewango Ave.  Warren   PA  16365  His birthday is July 4th.  I know he will be so thrilled to get a bunch of cards for his birthday.  Just write the word "Angel" in front of your name when you sign it.  Thanks to all who do this!  His mom's name is Jodie.  She would probably be thrilled to get a note too.

Vacation Bible School continues to be awesome!  I am really enjoying my time with the kids and the whole VBS staff.  Last night Jenna, myself and Christina Dammarrell did a skit about Jonah and the whale.  It went pretty good!

Thanks everyone for the cobbler recipes!  I am making one this weekend.  I want Texas BBQ too!  Take me to Texas for a visit Terrie O. and Shelly O.!

I am really loving the time spent during the day with Tyler too. Everyday it seems like he is saying more and more words. One of the things that Tyler likes to do at the Family Treehouse is shoot hoops.  He grabs the basketball and shoots hoop after hoop.  Here are a couple of pictures of him playing.  The last picture is a tippy toe shot. :)
