Good morning!!  We are so excited about getting out of here tomorrow to celebrate the 4th of July.  The family is all going to be sitting in Petco Park in San Diego, watching a Padres-Dodgers baseball game.  I will be sitting in the stadium with a hot dog in one hand and a soda in the other.  Will have to stop at Marie Calendars for some pie afterwards.  Then watching the fireworks!! How 4th of July is that??  We got a dog sitter to come to the house and watch Lola while we are gone.  Lola is doing great .......such a sweet dog!  What are you all doing for the 4th??

Jeff and Monica are safe and sound in Tokyo.  Monica's i-phone is not working over there unfortunately, so I won't be able to post any pictures until they get back.  I know they are having a great time.  Please keep them in your prayers for safety.

Anyone BBQing this weekend???  If so what are you putting on the grill??  Where are you watching the fireworks this year?  Any certain July 4th traditions that your family does??

Good morning!  How is everyone?  We have been having some weird weather here lately where I live.  It's been overcast and sprinkly, hot and humid.  YUCK!  You know the kind of sprinkles that is just enough to make your car look terrible?  Anyone else having any better weather?

I went to the hospital yesterday and got my red cell booster shot.  Ooowwwiiieee that hurt!  I really hope that I don't have to have another one of those anytime soon.  So now we wait until Monday morning and see if it helped.  Thanks for your prayers for my levels!

Just another friendly reminder to you all to send a card to someone who sure needs it right now.  Anyone done this yet?  I talked to two people yesterday who said they had.  Yay.....let's all do it! 

Thank you Patty McDonald for all of the fun last night.  I had a great time!  It is always so much fun getting together with you all.  I ate way too many chips and dip though!  :)

Mike has the day off today so he and I are looking forward to a fun day together.

Good morning!!  Here we are in the month of July and it is a busy month for the Gilbert Gang.  Lots of family birthdays to celebrate and something going on every weekend this month.  Also hoping that my chemo treatments will start next week too.  My Dr. called me yesterday and has called in an order to the hospital for me to get a red cell booster injection shot today.  I will also start back on my white cell booster shots this Saturday.  Nothing that I can do for the platelets.  They just have to rejuvenate on their own.  I am hoping the red cell booster will work fast.  We will see on Monday when I go back in for lab work.  I feel like a human pin cushion sometimes.  YIKES.....sometimes this is really no fun...........well actually none of it is fun...........but I have to do it anyways.  Thanks for your prayers for strength.  God holds me up every little step of the way.  I have to say too that I have met some of the most amazing people along the way.  I have made some awesome friendships.

My son Jeff is getting ready to leave today for his trip to Tokyo, Japan.  We are very excited for him and my sister.  They will have a blast.  Please keep them both in your prayers for safety while on this trip.
