Good Wednesday morning!  Believe it or not I am still sick.  What ever nasty flu bug this is, has gotten me real good. Yesterday I woke up to no voice and a sore throat.  I woke up this morning feeling better then I have and have already eaten a piece of toast and that is a huge improvement. Throat feels better but still not a voice.  I always lose my voice when I get a sore throat.   I hope I can say to you that I am now on the road to recovery.  Thanks for praying for me and my family.  Unfortunately Mike came down with this yesterday. Mike never catches what I get.....in all the years we have been married I have hardly ever seen him sick.  We were quite a pair yesterday.....he on one couch and I on the other,  just miserable.  Actually it was quite funny.  We were a sight, that is for sure.  Jeff has been taking great care of us.....I am just afraid that he is going to come down with it. 

In honor of my friend Gaynell, who by the way always puts a smile on my face and cracks me up...and loves the daily Tyler pic.....I wanted to show this picture of Jenna and Tyler to you that Ryan took on Saturday when they went to the mountains for the day.  I love it!  I am going to frame this one.

I am missing my little sidekick like crazy!!  I haven't seen him since Friday afternoon.  I am having severe withdrawals.  Jenna tells me that he is missing his Nani.  She also told me that Nani spoils him.  ha! ha!  can't help that one!  :)

Prayer requests....for a few people who have asked for prayer to help them over come the depression they are going through.  That certain things in their lives will start to get better.  That God will continue to give them strength, peace and hope for their future.

Numbers 6 verses 24, 25 & 26:  May the Lord bless and protect you; may the Lord's face radiate with joy because of you; may he be gracious to you, show you his favor and give you his peace.

This is Mike today.  Leslie had a setback with the flu she has been fighting and had a rough night.  Please keep her in your prayers that she will get better soon.  It looks to be at this point a virus she has to let run it's course.  I will keep you informed on how she is doing.  Thank you for praying for my wife.  God is good!

Good Monday morning!!  How was your 4th of July weekend? Did you all enjoy a fireworks show?  Eat good food?

Wow......what a weekend I had and none of it was good.  Friday night I was starting to feel kind of yucky.  So I went to bed thinking maybe I would feel better in the morning.  Well about 3:00 in the morning I woke up to the stomach and intestinal flu.  Oh it was awful.  You know the kind.....where you just lay down on the bathroom floor because what is the point of leaving when you know you are just going to be running for the toilet again.  I hadn't been this sick since I was on the chemo.  Finally about 8:00 in the morning I remembered that I had some left over anti-nausea drugs from when I was on chemo.  By 9:00 I was doing better but ended up sleeping all day because I was so weak.  That evening (Saturday) I started to run a 101 temp.  I really felt lousy.  By Sunday morning the temp was gone but still feeling yucky and couldn't eat yet.  It is amazing how fast you can drop 4 pounds.  So I missed out on all of the activities this weekend....and some delicious food.  That is okay though.  God had different plans for me.  The only good part I can think of is that I wasn't on my foot all weekend so it really got some rest. I also live close to where they have the fireworks show so I did get to see them last night too.  I am still weak and not eating much but starting to feel better.  I could use your prayers to gain strength again.

Prayer request:  For a couple right now who are struggling and need peace, strength and for some normalcy to get back into their lives.

Ephesians 3 verses 17, 18 & 19:  And I pray that Christ will be more and more in your hearts, living in you as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God's children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it.  And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.

Good Friday morning!  It is the start of a 3 day weekend for a lot of people.  What are your plans?  Enjoy your time off!  Mike and I are headed out of town tomorrow to meet up with some friends for the day.  We will be back tomorrow night.  I won't be blogging tomorrow but will be back on here Sunday.  Looking forward to some July 4th fun with family and friends.

He still is fighting a cold but has not been fussy at all.  Just being so mellow.  Probably the meds that he is taking.

Prayer requests:  Received a request yesterday from a friend who's hubby needs to find a job fast.  My brother-in-law Gregg is still looking for a job too.  Also another  friend of mine is looking for part-time work.  Thank you for praying for these people.  It is so great that we can come to one another and keep each other in prayer. An update on my friend Stacey....she is doing much better now and should be released from the hospital very soon.  She appreciated all the thoughts and prayers.

Romans 5 verses 3, 4 & 5: We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials for we know that they are good for us--they help us learn to be patient.  And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady.  Then, when that happens, we are able to hold our heads high no matter what happens and know that all is well, for we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
