Good Saturday morning!  So what is everyone up to this weekend?  Well Jenna, Tyler and I are off to the beautiful mountains of Julian this morning.  Looking forward to having a picnic in the park, apple picking and eating some of Julian's famous apple pie with some of my co-workers.  The weather is suppose to be a clear sunny 82 degrees.  Hopefully on Sunday my house will smell like homemade applesauce.  My friend Shelly Osuna who is a kinder teacher made some for her class yesterday.  It smelled sooooooo good in her classroom.  The kids were excited!

I had a great time at the football game last night.  I had forgotten how good the Central Spartan band is.  What a great half time show!  Band did songs from Carlos Santana, the tall flags twirled fire, baton twirlers twirled fire, a spartan came sprinting out on a horse and the drill team was awesome!  I was so happy to finally see my High School friends Ian and Danielle cheer!  Loved it....you guys were awesome!  Ahhhh.....it was fun being back on my old stomping grounds again.  Central beat Kofa 75-32.

Here is a picture of one of the things that Tyler likes to do best......read books.  We read everytime he comes over to my house.

My San Diego Chargers are going to be playing the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday.  GO CHARGERS!!

Prayer requests:  For a young teenage girl who is going through a very difficult time right now.  Please pray for the whole family at this time and also for wisdom on what to do.  Please also pray for some people who are having extreme financial difficulties right now that is causing a lot of stress.  Pray for some sort of relief soon.

Proverbs 16 verse 33:  Humility and reverence for the Lord will make you both wise and honored.

Have a fantabulous weekend everyone!!  See you on Monday!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question:  What were your High School colors?  Central is blue and white.  Imperial is red and white.

Good Friday morning!  Yay.......ready for the weekend!  Tonight I am going to a Central Union High School football home game. That is my old alma mater.  I haven't been to a Central Union High game in years.  My kids went to Imperial High so that is where I always go.  My friend Cheryl who teaches there has to attend the game tonight and asked if I would tag along.  Looking forward to going and to see some kids I know cheering.  Go Spartans!  (I actually have no idea who they are playing....oh well, I will find out when I get there).  haha

Saturday morning Jenna, Tyler and I will be heading to Julian for the day. (If you are not from this area, it is a beautiful mountain area.)   The staff at the school I work with is having a company picnic.  It is suppose to be a gorgeous day.  We are going to be apple picking too!  I have never done that before and am excited!  (That is why I wanted the apple sauce recipe).  We will of course be going to eat some apple pie too.  Tyler's buddy Wyatt will be there.  I will gets lots of pics and share them next week.

Yesterday Mike and I had Tyler for the afternoon while momma was getting her hair done.  So we thought about what kind of trouble we could get into again with Tyler.  So it was decided to give him a roll of toilet paper and see what he would do with it.  Here are the pics.

He had a ball!  So much fun!  Our theory is that if we let him do it now that maybe he won't want to do it later.  Of course the whole thing could backfire and he will want to get into it all the time.  haha...we will see.

Thanks Edna for the recipe!!

Prayer requests:  Safety and protection for all of our military.  God's blessings on each and every one of them.  Pray also for God's wisdom and guidance on our nation's leaders and government.  I am praying for all the prayer requests that I received.

Proverbs 12 verse 25:  Anxious hearts are very heavy but a word of encouragement does wonders.

Have a fantastic day everyone!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question:  What is one must have item you should take on a picnic?  What is your favorite food to eat on a picnic?

Good Thursday morning!  Hope everyone is having a good week.  I get my new stove/oven delivered today.  I am so ready!  For someone who likes to cook/bake like Mike and I do, we have been missing it a lot.

I read this yesterday and wanted to share it with you.........  Take time each day to thank God for something He has done for you.  You are to thank Him always for everything--great or small--but being specific about something each day that is especially meaningful to you will be a blessing to you....and to God.  There is so much in life to be thankful for, and that's where you need to keep your focus.  Fill your mind with memories that are true, pure, lovely, excellent, and worthy of praise.  Then express your thanks to God.

Here is Tyler belly laughing at his daddy Ryan.  Ryan was dropping a plastic cup on him and he would laugh so hard.  It's funny what will make babies crack up.

Thanks Shelly and Brenda and Lisa for the beautiful cards.  Thanks Lisa, Jess and Krissy for making me goodies to try and fatten me up!  Totally made my day.

Prayer requests:  Peace and comfort for the Kate Simmons Family.  She passed away yesterday from a couple year battle with cancer.  While we are at it let's continue to pray for a cure for this ugly disease cancer.  Please keep praying for everyone and their families that are battling cancer right now.  If you know of someone who has it please e-mail me their first name and I will pray faithfully for them.  Any and all prayer requests I will faithfully pray for.  leslie@mgilbert.net  It is a priviledge and honor to pray.

Proverbs 3 verse 6  In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.

Have a super day everyone!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question.....any tried and true good recipes out there for home made apple sauce?  Edna Clary....you made one when my kids were in your class.  It was good.  Do you remember the recipe?

Good Wednesday morning!  Today is the first day of fall.  At least that is what it says on my calendar. Fall is my favorite time of year.  I wish that I could say that fall is in the air here and that the leaves are turning beautiful colors.  But no.....it is still really hot and we don't have those kind of trees in the Imperial Valley Desert.  But I know that beautful fall day temperatures will come and I love them when they get here.  I was blessed to see the fall foliage at Central Park in New York a couple of years ago.  One of these years my family will travel to the New England states that explode with the beautiful fall colors.  In the meantime I will enjoy the pictures I see of it and if Angel Linda is sending what I think she is, I will have a bit of it at home soon.

Jenna and I went and visited our friends Jessica Coyne and her mom Ginna.  Jessica just had a baby boy about 3 weeks ago named Braden, who is a doll!  Here is a picture of Tyler and Braden together.  It is so hard to believe that Tyler was ever that small.  Braden is a sweetheart.  Love cuddling him!  The next pic is of us grandma's holding our precious grandsons.

I would like to wish a very "Happy Birthday" to Angela Middleton today.  She is the one that Jeff went to Europe with.  Have a super fun day Angela!

Prayer requests:  For a family where both the husband and wife are in need of a job.  Pray for them and others that are looking for a job.  That something will come their way very soon.  I know the stress level of looking for a job in these hard times is very high.

Proverbs 3 verse 3: Never forget to be truthful and kind.  Hold these virtues tightly.  Write them deep within your heart.

Have a wonderful day everyone!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question:  Do you fall asleep every night to the T.V. or do you read? Or neither.....your head just hits the pillow and you are out?  I fall asleep by reading every night.

Good Tuesday morning!  I have an amazing touching story to share with everyone this morning.  Get a tissue.   My hubby Mike had this 9 year old little girl as a patient in Pediatrics yesterday and she had really long hair.  Mike was telling her how pretty her hair was. She told Mike that she was growing it out for Locks of Love. So Mike told her he had a wife that had cancer and lost all her hair. The little girl wrote her name and number on a card and said, "If your wife ever needs hair again, just call me and I will give her mine". Oh my gosh......isn't that the sweetest thing? That touched him so much and he got all teary eyed. Then he told me and I cried happy tears.   Aren't little kids amazing?  They truly have hearts of gold.  Dear God......please help us all to have hearts like this little girl.

Here is a picture of my happy Charger fan grandson.  Yay.....the Chargers made a touchdown!!

Updates: Little Wyatt's surgery went well.  He is in some pain so if you could pray that he feels better quickly that would be great. Denise Roger's mom....there is a tumor but it is not growing.  They are going to treat it with steroids.  No surgery is required.  Thank you so much for praying for them both.

Prayer requests:  For strength, peace and comfort for those who have lost a loved one.  That they will feel God's arms wrapped around them for comfort.

Genesis 2 verses 1-3:  Now at last the heavens and earth were successfully completed, with all that they contained.  So on the seventh day, having finished his task, God ceased from this work he had been doing, and God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he ceased this work of creation.

I wanted to remind us of these very familiar verses because as you can see, even God took a day off to rest.  Sometimes we all just go, go, go and we need to stop and take a little rest, so we can feel refreshed. During that time of rest think about and enjoy all the blessings God has brought to you and be thankful.  Then you will be ready to hit it hard again.

Have a terrific day everyone!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question:  Have you or a family member ever been in the newspaper?  What was it for?  My whole family has been in the paper for one thing or another.... like sports, school awards etc....At my work if you or a family member gets their picture in the paper you have to bring donuts for the whole staff.  Isn't that cool?  :)
