Good Monday morning! How was everyone's weekend?  We had a super weekend!  We celebrated my sister Monica's birthday on Saturday and ate a ton of good food.  Mike's ribs did not disappoint.  They were awesome.  Tyler wasn't feeling well though.  I think he might be teething again.  He seemed much better on Sunday.  After church we watched my San Diego Chargers WIN!!  Yeeeessssss!!!  Mike and I also found a good deal on a new stove/oven at Lowe's so we bought it.  They even do free delivery and will take our old one for us (if you can say a 6 year one is old).  Unfortunately we won't get it until Thursday.  Oh well....more dinners from the crockpot.

Thank you everyone for your kind words of love, support and encouragement for me.  I feel all of your prayers and appreciate them so much.  We are praying in faith that my scan in November will be clean. 

Prayer requests:  For my friend Lisa Alloway's grandson Wyatt (8 months old) who is having surgery at 8:00 this morning.  Pray that all goes well and that he has a quick recovery.  Also for Denise Roger's mom as she see's a brain surgeon today for the spot that is growing and placing pressure on her optic nerve.  Also for Brendon Jensen (6th grade) who broke his wrist and elbow playing football.  Pray that he will heal quickly too.

Update on Electra: She has been transferred to a Children's hospital now.  She has a long road of recovery ahead of her.  Please keep her in your daily prayers for a full recovery.  Thank you for all of your prayers for her as well as others.

Genesis 1 verses 28 - 31:  And God blessed them and told them, "Multiply and fill the earth and subdue it; you are masters of fish and birds and all the animals.  And look!  I have given you the seed bearing plants throughout the earth, and all the fruit trees for your food.  And I've given all the grass and plants to the animals and birds for their food."  Then God looked over all that he had made, and it was excellent in every way.  This ended the sixth day.

Good Saturday morning!  My sister Monica and my brother-in-law Gregg are coming down today and the family is finally getting together to celebrate Monica's 40th birthday.  Looking forward to hanging out and eating lots of good food!  Monica has requested Mike's awesome smoked ribs.  They are seriously award winning good!  Unfortunately my stove/oven broke last week and the repair man came out on Thursday morning and told Mike that it would cost just as much to fix it as to buy a new one.  It is only like 6 years old......big bummer.  So hopefully we will be able to find a new one this weekend.  It is one of the smooth ceramic top ones which I love and I want to get another one.  Let me know if you see a good sale going on. So in the mean time I will take all my stuff to Jenna's today and cook.  

I wanted to tell you all that Dr. McClay was thrilled about the news of my book.  He was genuinely excited for me and wished me the best of luck on it and told Mike and I that when it became a movie that he wanted Brad Pitt to play his part. lol   Love my Dr. McClay!

Here is Tyler Michael playing in his toy box at Nani and Poppi's house.  He likes to take every single toy out and spread them all over the place.  I love it!

Thanks so much to my friend Lisa Alloway for taking the time on Thursday night to bake me lots of homemade goodies to help fatten me up.  It is all so good!  If I keep eating like I did yesterday it should take no time at all to gain weight.  Thanks for the "sweet" surprise when I got to work.

My San Diego Chargers play on Sunday at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars.  GO CHARGERS!!  Oh I love football season!

Prayer requests:  Denise Roger's mom has an appointment with the brain surgeon now on Monday.  She was suppose to get results on Monday but Dr. called her early to get her into the surgeon.  There is a spot that has grown and is putting pressure on her optic nerve.  Her appointment is at 10:15.  I will keep you updated.  Also Tyler's buddy Wyatt (Lisa Alloway's grandson) is having  surgery in San Diego on Monday morning at 8:00.  Please pray that everything goes well and that his recovery will be quick.

Genesis 1 verses 24 - 27:  And God said, "Let the earth bring forth every kind of animal--cattle, reptiles and wildlife of every kind."  And so it was.  God made all sorts of wild animals and cattle and reptiles.  And God was pleased with what he had done.  Then God said, "Let us make a man--someone like ourselves, to be the master of all life upon the earth and in the skies and in the seas."  So God made man like his Maker.  Like God did God make man.

Is your stove gas or electric?

Good Friday morning!!  I am prayerfully "Happy Dancing" today!  I think yesterdays news was 95% good!  Thank you everyone for your support, prayers and encouragement.  I am feeling good about everything.  Dr. McClay said that my PET scan looked good.  Body is clear except for one little spot on my lung that showed up.  He isn't overly concerned about it and is optimistic about it. However, he said that he needs to keep a close watch on it.  It could be several other things too.  So in November I will have a chest scan.  We are praying in faith that the spot is gone.  If it happens to turn into something, he said that we could do the cyber knife procedure.  It is like the gamma knife they did on my brain but on my lung instead.  It would be a 3 or 4 day procedure.  I don't really know a lot about it yet and hope to never find out.  He did tell me though that I would not have to have chemo too.  Since the rest of my body is clean the cyber knife would take care of the spot and that would be it. 

Also since my immune system is weak, I am starting the white cell booster (leukine) shots again.  10 days on and 10 days off for the next year.  I am fine with that too.  Leukine is helpful in fighting melanoma as well as boosting the immune system to fight infections.  Kind of like an extension of my vaccine shots.  I will take all the help I can get.......working with kids in a school is like jumping into a petri dish.

Dr. McClay also said to take the port out.  He was all for me getting rid of it.  So I will call the surgeon next week and set up an appointment to do that.  Yay!

At the same time I am normal and I know this will be on the back burner of my mind.....I am going to continue for the next two months to celebrate everyday and look forward to all the things we have planned.  I know all of your prayers will keep me, Mike and the family strong.  God is Good and I know he has great plans for me.  The journey continues....

One more thing.....I need prayer to gain weight.  I know that sounds crazy but since my gall bladder surgery I keep losing.  I need to gain at least 5 pounds, preferably more.  I am eating everything now, not low fat anymore but need to really pack on calories.  My dietician daughter is going to help me with that. 

Now on to a happier note........Here is Tyler wishing you a "Happy Birthday" Gaynell!  And look....the sign is perfect.....not smashed or destroyed.  Ha ha!  I finally got smart and bought hard board.  Hope you like it!  I think it met all of your requirements.  :)

Angel Linda....I love the question of the day....I was in such a hurry yesterday I forgot to post one.  I love to get to know everyone more through my silly questions. I love the conversations in the comments too.  Tell Sami to keep answering away!   So today's is...name 3 things you can't live without.

Update:  Good news BUT the doctor may see something very small on Leslie's lungs.  All of the rest of her body is clear but he wants to take a look at this spot on her lungs again in November.  So she will have a chest scan done then to determine if it really is something or not.  The doctor is very optimistic and Leslie is in overall good spirits.  Obviously we had hoped that everything looked great but we know we serve an awesome God that is in complete control.  So please pray that the spot on her lung goes away and that she is completely healed.  And for no anxiety for Leslie or Mike.  Thank you!  God is GOOD!  (updated by Sister Monica)

Good Thursday morning!  Everything went great yesterday at my surgeons appointment.  After today's report from my oncologist I will make an appointment to get my port taken out.  My surgeon said it is time for it to come out anyways.  We don't want any blood clotting issues.  I will keep you updated on that.

Here we go........I will have my sister update the blog today after my appointment.  It is at 3:30 this afternoon.  Thank you again for the prayers for a great report.  I feel good about everything! God is Good!

I have a couple of pictures to share today.  Remember I told you on Monday Tyler and his buddy Wyatt wore their Charger jersey's to their babysitters?  I had Wyatt's grandma Lisa take a couple of pictures of them together for me with my camera when she picked up Wyatt.  When she got there this was Wyatt.

 
This was Tyler!  Hahaha!  Guess he was tired from all the excitement.  He was resting up for the big game later that night.  :)

Prayer requests:  For little Samuel who is 4 years old and is receiving heavy duty chemo for his leukemia.  Pray for strength for him and his little body to handle all the chemo.  Pray for total healing.  Pray for his parents to stay encouraged and strong.  Also comfort for my brother Donald and my sister-in-law Noni.  Their beloved dog Apollo passed away yesterday.  He was such a great dog and will be missed so much.

Genesis 1 verses14 - 19:  Then God said "Let there be bright lights in the sky to give light to the earth and to identify the day and the night; they shall bring about the seasons on the earth, and mark the days and years."  And so it was.  For God made two huge lights, the sun and the moon, to shine down upon the earth--the larger one, the sun, to preside over the day and the smaller one, the moon, to preside through the night; he also made the stars.  And God set them in the sky to light the earth and to preside over the day and night, and to divide the light from the darkness.  And God was pleased.  This all happened on the fourth day.

Good Wednesday morning!  I hope everyone is having a great week so far!   I have an appointment with my surgeon today and then off to San Diego tomorrow afternoon to see my oncologist.  A big "thanks" to so many of you that are praying for me and have been such an encouragement to me.  God's timing is so perfect and I seem to hear such wonderful things at just the right moment.  I feel all the love!

A little update on SPF-150 It's a Sunny Day......we now have an editor for the book.  Woohoo.....thanking God for all His blessings with this project.  The support has been tremendous!

Here is my Tyler pic for the day.  He is fast asleep on his momma's shoulder.  So sweet to watch him sleeping.  He is our angel.

Update on Electra....She sat up for a few minutes today in bed and smiled a little.  Tiny steps towards recovery but big leaps for her.  Thanks for your continued prayers for this beautiful little girl.   

Prayer requests:  Please pray for Angel Linda's daughter Sami.  That she will start to feel much better soon.  She would also like to hear from the Jeopardy people soon to see if she made it on the show or not.  Also for a friends mom who is not feeling or doing well.  Also I know of a lot of people right now who are sick with colds and flu and are just miserable.  Pray that they feel relief soon.   

Genesis 1 verses 9 - 13:  Then God said, "Let the water beneath the sky be gathered into oceans so that the dry land will emerge."  And so it was.  Then God named the dry land "earth," and the water "seas."  And God was pleased.  And he said, "Let the earth burst forth with every sort of grass and seed bearing plant, and fruit trees with seeds inside the fruit, so that these seeds will produce the kinds of plants and fruits they came from."  And so it was, and God was pleased.  This all occured on the third day.
