Hey everyone!  Today went great!  Lots and lots of orientation.  Watched two separate videos about the procedure and had about an hour meeting with the nurse who will be with me on Wednesday explaining every detail of what will happen on Wednesday.  Then it was off to the neurosurgeon who did a complete exam on me.  We left him feeling really good about things.  He told us again that the success rate with this procedure is very high and we were encouraged!

I have a test tomorrow morning and then Mike and I have some free time in the afternoon.  My sister Monica has two free passes to the San Diego Zoo that have to be used up before December 31st and she can't go..........so yep.........that is where you will find Mike and I tomorrow.......at the zoo!  Can't think of a better way to occupy both of our minds for the day.  Actually looking forward to it.

I have to be at the hospital at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.  After today I am not scared.  I know what to expect and I am ready.  It really doesn't seem to be to bad.  I will have a headache and a little swelling afterwards but that's not a big deal.  They even gave us a tour of where the treatment will take place.  (It all looks very Star Wars...HA!)

BIG prayer request......They do have to start an IV.  Please pray that my veins are strong.  Actually this will be a HUGE request for the future too.  Remember I don't have a port anymore and I have to start the chemo next week.  Don't have a date for that yet.    So I am praying my veins will stay strong for that too and that I won't have to do the port thing again.  Since my chemo is one day instead of two in a row like last time I have hope that I can do it.....and I know I have your prayers.

THANK YOU!!!!!  What encouragement Mike and I feel.  Also for you tremendous love and help.

GOD IS GOOD!!!

Hello everyone!  I have quite a story to share with you right now.  I seriously work with and am blessed with the best co-workers a girl could ever get.  A bunch of them came by my house right now and had lit candles all over the ground and were holding lit candles.  They came out and prayed for me, to show their support for me, to hug me and tell me how much they love me.  I bawled.  It was one of the most touching things I have been a part of  and I will NEVER forget it.  Thank you so much for that!  I know I am not alone on this journey and I do have such incredible support.  Thank you again so much my dear friends and co-workers.  You are my work family and I love you dearly too!  Thanks also Bill & Donna Cartwright for coming out and showing your support too.

Mike and I are off to San Diego tomorrow.  Monday is tests and meeting with several Doctors.  Tuesday is more tests in the morning.  Wednesday is the BIG day.  I will have the radiation treatment then.

My prayer requests are this........that everything goes smooth, for strength for me and my family, that the Chemo treatments  I start on Monday the 8th do not make me sick or cause my hair to fall out again.  I am on heavy duty steroids right now (to shrink the swelling in the brain) too that are causing some side effects.  It looks like I will be on them for a while.  One of the side effects being it has brought back the neuropathy in my hands and feet.  While it shrinks swelling on the inside I am so swollen on the out.

I want you to know that I am mentally ready.  I want to do this and get it over with.  Yes it is scary.  But I feel those prayers and the peace of God.  He is carrying me through this all thats for sure.  He is the great God of love.......and He has so much to give.  I've seen it and always experience it.......especially tonight.

Mike will keep the blog updated everyday to keep you posted.  He will even have one while I am doing the treatment.  Have a great week!

God is Good!!!
