Good afternoon!  I am very happy today because my San Diego Chargers won last night!  Yeah!!!  It is about time.  I still have high hopes that we will be in the Super Bowl this year!

I am sad today too.  I finally had the rest of what was left of my semi long hair cut off today.  It is VERY short.  Only about 1 1/2 inches long.  It is what has grown out since the chemo ended in June.  It is coming in very thick again which I am grateful.  I have just never had short hair before and this is extremely short.  I cried on my way home from the beauty shop.  Yes I am mourning the loss of all of my hair.  I know it will grow fast and be back in no time AND I am so thankful that I am alive and well.  I guess it is just one of the things you have to go through in this journey.  When I get brave enough I will take a picture and post it on here.

I am encouraged to know that even though we sometimes may be given more than we can handle, we never will be given more than God can handle!

Have a great evening!  God is Good!!

Hi Leslie! Thank you so much for your prayers for my friends. I am sure that you know very well how much that means to me, and to them. One friend is doing ok, and the other not-so-ok. The friend with Lou Gehrig's Disease is steadily declining in health. We are going tomorrow to visit him and his family, so we will have more information after that visit. The friend with cancer is well into his second aggressive schedule of chemo. He was able to work for a short period of time (he's a teacher and athletic director at a junior high), but has since had to stop because his energy level wouldn't allow it. But he seems to be more hopeful lately, and the doctors still think that they will be able to beat this. He has one more surgery scheduled for the end of the year, and they will reassess at that point. His family and his wife's family are near them, and have been helping to take care of the baby, and they have a great support network around them, which, combined with the prayers, has helped a great deal. By the way, we are going to be in San Diego tomorrow to visit a dermatologist and have our skin checked out. I'll let you know when we get a clean bill of health. Candace

Leslie...you're beautiful! It's never what's on the outside that makes a person beautiful...it's what's on the inside that counts! I'm sure you look wonderful with short hair. Can't wait to see the new look. Dealing with bronchitis here...went to the dr. today. Have an antibiotic to take and some prescription cough syrup too. Beautiful autumn day here. You have a great rest of the day. My love to you...Angel Hugs! "Angel" Linda

Leslie, Just think of it this way. The longer your hair grows, the longer you become cancer free. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE??? Anyway I hope you understand what I mean. Besides, even if you had no hair at all you would be beautiful. I love ya buddy.
