Good Tuesday morning!!!  Guess who is 14 months old today?? Tyler Michael.

I am enjoying my time off from work and hanging with the family.  I have my Tyler again this week while mommy is working.  I will be sad and missing him so much when I go back to work next week.  My vacation seems to be flying by.  Thanks for sharing what your family did for Christmas.  It was fun reading about it!!

I have a story that I wanted to share with you all that happened to me on Christmas night.  Mike and I got home late that night and right before I went to bed I decided to check my e-mail.  I had received an e-mail from Chris Workman, who is a distant relative of Mike's.  His wife Cathy is the one we were praying for earlier this year who was battling cancer.  She lost her battle and went home to be with our Lord in June.  Chris is raising their two children ages 8 and 11.  Chris took the time on Christmas Day evening to let me know he was praying for me and wrote a prayer out for me to read.  It was the most beautiful, heartfelt prayer.  A prayer full of faith.  I started bawling.  It was by far the best Christmas gift that I had received.  Here is a man trying to get through his first Christmas without his precious wife and he took the time to send me a prayer.  I am in awe of the strength that we get from God when we are so weak and how he uses that strength to help others.  Thank you Chris.  You inspire me even more to help others.  Thank you God for your perfect timing in lifting our spirits.

On Christmas night while we were chillin by the fire, my son-in-law Ryan took this pic of Jenna, me, Mike and Jeff.  Tyler was already fast asleep.

Christmas Family '10

I would like to wish a very "Happy Birthday' to Jennifer Rider today!  Have a funfilled day Jen!  Also congrats to Randi's father-in-law Steve and his girlfriend Janice on becoming engaged!

Congratulations to Jim & Deanna Mayer on the birth of their daughter Alyson Jade!!!!

Prayer requests:  For someone who needs prayer for emotional strength.  That God will help them in dealing with the difficult past circumstances in life.  Also for someone who is having back surgery.  Pray that everything will go smooth and that the recovery will be quick.

Romans 8 verses 26, 27 & 28:  And in the same way--by our faith--the Holy Spirit helps us with our daily problems and in our praying.  For we don't even know what we should pray for, nor how to pray as we should;  but the Holy Spirit prays for us with such feeling that it cannot be expressed in words.  And the Father who knows all hearts knows, of course, what the spirit is saying as he pleads for us in harmony with God's own will.  And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans.

Have a terrific day everyone!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question........When do you take down all of your Christmas decorations?

Such a good pic of you all! Love it. Seems funny that Jen and Ryan have a fireplace in that warm valley - and even had a fire in it. Looks cozy. It's been real chilly here lately. We even had snow flurries on Christmas day and the next. Never had any snow coming down on Cbristmas day in CO, though we did have snow on the ground that day a few times. But we move to AL and we get snow flurries. :D *** It's neat that Chris emailed a prayer to you. From his last blog on that website he's on, it sounds like they were having a hard time getting into the Christmas season - but then they were starting early like you do. And hopefully once they got into it, it got easier and more enjoyable. I really hope so. *** When do I take down the decorations? Well, as you know, I'm kinda late putting them up. I'm kinda a late person at most things - a bit behind about everything, so taking down the decorations is no different. I like to have the tree down by New Year's Day though. The rest can stay up awhile longer - especially the nativity, which I used to actually leave up all year long, but decided it collected too much dust for that. I also like to leave the cards and stuffed bears out for awhile. (I'm a softy for stuffed animals. Never outgrew teddy bears.) Well, still praying in AL. Love, Ev

Hi Leslie! Oh we had a great day shopping in Erie! It seemed great to not be on any sort of time schedule. The only downside was there really wasn't anything super special to buy :( We had a great lunch at a local diner, then headed off to the Christmas Tree Shop - got some really cute card sets...they're such bright cheerful colors & designs. Stopped by a discount close-out store too - we found a book by that author that Sami's become friends with! We were shocked to find it's about her adventures with pink river dolphins in the Amazon. Had to return one gift that didn't fit - so ran into Target just long enough to get a refund. Our biggest & best deals were found at the Schewbel's bakery store! HA! All-in-all it was a good day though. The weather was cold but clear...that's always great! I just love that Chris sent you that special prayer...what an awesome gift any day of the year, but even more special to get at Christmas. You know, those firsts after a loved dies are tough, as what Chris is facing right now, but when I went through that I found I got such comfort by doing something special for someone else. It was a way to honor Sam's memory, as well as honoring God. I agree it was a pretty special thing for him to do. As I read that, I had to stop & pray for his children...I'm sure it was very hard on them as well. QOTD - We don't usually take the decorations down until New Year's Day. Love Ya Tons...sending love & hugs your way. "Angel" Linda

Hi Leslie, Another beautiful picture of your family! Your story about Chris and the prayer he said for you made me smile. I am convinced Leslie that someone is thinking about you and praying for you just about every minute of everyday. You have been a true blessing to me as well. I pray for you everyday. I won't be taking down our Christmas decorations until New Years Day. I hold out putting them away as long as I can. Have fun today with that adorable grandson of yours.

Great picture! Y'all always look terrific in photos. Question of the Day... Well, I am usually one to leave up all the decorations until at least the first week of January, but this year has been a little different. Shawn begain putting our new floors down the week before Christmas. The only place that didn't get new floors was under the Christmas tree (too big to move). We agreed he'd do it after Christmas. Well, apparently, someone didn't put water in the tree stand every day and our tree became a fire hazard quite immediately. You see, we bought it on December 1. Early, I know, but it was big and beautiful and I wanted it "now! now! now!". Soooo.... in my impatience with wanted my new floors finished, and the fact that I was convinced that my tree would lite like Christmas Vacation, we took the tree down two days before Christmas. Yes, Yes. I know. My floors got finished though. :) I still have the rest of the decorations (wreath, lights, reindeer in yard, candles, etc.) all up - at least for today.... :) Love ya Les!
