“Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3  One of many great verses to start the New Year off with.  Write this verse down where you will see it all the time.
Good Wednesday morning!!  I hope everyone's week is going good.  I am having fun with Tyler and he is having fun playing with his new toys.  Poppi Mike is off today and we are going to take Tyler out and about for a little while today. (weather permitting)  Looks like we might be getting some rain.

I was thinking about the start of the new year and wondering if you wanted to try to read through the entire bible in a year together??  I have done this before a couple of times.  I will post everyday what the passage is that we should be reading.  Now I know this is hard to do. Time is a big factor. You miss a day or two here and there and then you can't get caught up.  Don't try to.  Just pick up where we are.  That way you don't get frustrated and give up.  Even if you read most of the bible, I think that is a great accomplishment!  Let's try it and see how it goes.  We will learn so much together.  If this is your first time to do this make sure you get a bible version that is easy understanding.  I have been told by some people that they don't like to read the bible because it is so hard to understand.  I promise there are some versions that are easy understanding.

Here are a couple more pics of Tyler.  Here he is opening one of his gifts.

Prayer requests:  Please keep Amy Bonillas in your prayers for tomorrow.  She is having surgery on her arm again to make sure all the edges are clean from melanoma.  Pray that she heals quickly and that everything goes smooth.  Also please pray for a friend who will be getting results from a biopsy soon.  Pray that she hears good news.

If you have a prayer request please let me know.  I want to pray for you.   I will put it on this blog anonymously for our prayer warriors to pray for too if you want.

Ephesians 3 verses 17, 18 & 19:  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God's children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it.  And so at last you wil be filled up with God himself.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question......So tell me what you do to ring in the New Year??  Any traditions??

Leslie--I'm enjoying the pics of Tyler. What a great joy these grandchildren can be. Thanks for the update on Amy. I will be praying for her as she goes through this situation with the surgery and the inevitable waiting for results/recommendations. What a trial for her and her family. Thanks also for the verses from Ephesians!!

Good Evening Leslie...well it was another day of running & shopping :) Had to go to the grocery store (so we had lunch in the store's cafe), then I headed to the mall to use a couple more gift cards I had...all out of gift cards now :) Absolutely love that verse & I do agree we need to put it in a visible place to see every day. I absolutely LOVE the idea of reading through the Bible in a year together - what an awesome suggestion! It'll help me with my studies too ;) Now I just need to decide which one to use :) I have quite a collection in every shape, size, color, translation, hard cover, soft cover, leather cover & type (i.e. - chronological, study, devotional) you can think of! I guess if you're going to have an abundance of should be God's word! I've read almost all of them too. At last count...there are 20 in the collection :) I think it would be cool to know what everyone's favorite translation is - I'd have to say mine is the New Living Translation, followed close by the Message. Anyone really like the King James Version? I have a couple of those, but they are NOT my favorite by any means, but the very first Bible I got when I was baptized at age 8 was a KJV & the 'family' Bible I have is KJV with a Thomas Kincade cover. I have so many different translations. I have a Chronological Bible - you read it cover to cover & it's all in chronological order of events (as best as they've been figured out anyway). I also have Chicken Soup for the Soul bible - it's kind of's laid out in daily sections to read from beginning to end & throughout includes some Chicken Soup stories to go with the scriptures every day. I really enjoy the translation you use when you post scripture on here...which one is it? Just love those pics of Tyler - I bet Christmas was just a blast with him! Praying that all goes well for Amy Bo tomorrow & that she gets a good report. Also for the other friend awaiting results of the biopsy. QOTD - Ringing in the New Year??? It usually comes in without me...I don't usually stay up. If I happen to be up, it's because I've been reading, but I have no real tradition. Only went out on New Year's one time & it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I don't like crowds, so I prefer just to stay home. Will be emailing you some is especially comical! Have a great day. Love & Hugs, "Angel" Linda

Good morning Leslie! I love the Tyler pics. I kept up with you while in Nebraska and it was fun to see Tyler's pics each day.....I will be praying for Amy Bo as well! Lots of good thoughts sent her way. Also, pray for Lance Hicks who I grew up with, he was stabbed on Sunday in El Centro. Gary's dad only has 3 more rounds of radiation! He is doing well and looks pretty good. Very tired but fighting through this. Thanks for always being so positive and giving the rest of us a lift each day! Love you Leslie!!!!!

Let's do it! I have tried before and only got half way through. But if we hold each other accountable we can read the Bible in one year! Woohoo!

Wahooo!!! I'm first again! :) Yes, teh weather looks pretty gnarly around here today. The wind woke me up. I plan on staying in today, after I take Ty to weight lifting & go to Wal Mart (yuck!). I spent 5 hours yesterday painting trim & the fireplace yesterday in the family room. Today, I'm going to finish up the front room. Shawn is going to put the 1/4 round up so that our floors look finished. :) They are gorgeous!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed that our couches come Friday... Amy Bo... sending good thoughts your way. Praying that all turns out well. Question of the Day.. No real traditions. Last year, we went to Sharon's house and rang the new year in with her. It was actually the most fun I'd ever had on New Year's Eve. Hilarious!!! This year, we are inviting Sharon and my parents over for dinner. Woohooo! Yes, I know what you're thinking. Ringing in the new year with our parents??? We figured it would be the safest bet, and we want to show our house progress off. :) Besides, they'll all be gone by 9 and I can clean up and go to bed! ha! :) Love ya Les!
