I read this devotion several years ago and liked it so much that I stuck it in my bible.  Since New Year's Eve is coming, I wanted to share it now with you.........At a New Year's Eve service, a Baltimore pastor encouraged the people to give their problems to the Savior and leave them with Him.  To impress this upon them, he asked them to write their problems on slips of paper.  He then collected them, put them in a metal pot, and burned them.

After the service, he washed the ashes down the drain and set the container aside to be cleaned later.  The next day a woman called who had come late to the service and had missed the pastor's explanation.  She thought he had said promises, and she had wondered why he had burned them.  The pastor assured her that God's promises were secure and neither water nor fire could destroy them.

Later, as the minister was cleaning the container, he found a single slip stuck to the bottom.  It was partially burned, but he could clearly read the promises written on it by that late worshiper.  But more remarkable, the slip, being the last one added to the pot, should of been the first to be destroyed.

God makes no promises that he cannot keep.  God's promises are greater than life's problems.  Isn't that so cool?

Here is a picture of Tyler helping to handout presents.  He is giving this one to Poppi.

Prayer requests:  Please pray for a couple of families who are going through a tremendous hardship right now.  Certain areas in life seem to be falling apart.  They are keeping their faith, hope and trust in the Lord to get them through.  They have asked the prayer warriors here to please keep them in their prayers for strength and for God to guide them in the right direction.  Thank you.

Ephesians 3 verses 20 & 21:  Now glory be to God who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more then we would ever dare to ask or even dream of--infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.  May he be given glory forever and ever through endless ages because of his master plan of salvation for the church through Jesus Christ.

Have a terrific day everyone!  Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!

Question.......What is the one food that you have no willpower over?  No matter what, you can't resist to eat it if it is served.  Mine is Ruffles chips and toasted onion dip.  I could eat the whole bowl by myself and have swollen lips from eating so many chips!  LOVE CHIPS AND DIP!!

Hey there...just got the results of my blood work back. Over all things looked pretty good - there are a couple areas where the readings weren't so good. Gonna wait it out, keep up with the new meds and see what the blood work looks like in June. Just pray that everything straightens itself out with the course we're on right now. The new medication is helping with the fibromyalgia maybe I'll be able to get back into some exercise, which should help with everything else. I promised I'd let you there you go :) Love Ya, "Angel" Linda

My dearest Leslie; It's been a while since I last commented but you can imagine how busy I've been. ChristmasDay I had dinner and most all the family came to have fun and eat. Your Mom & Dad did not get to come up because of the weather. The weatherman predicted 4"-6" of more snow and we already had a lot of snow over Ice so to be on the safe side they did not venture out. Went to church on Sunday and then a lot of the family came over to help finish up the left-overs. We played games and had a grand time. Monday, Anthony finally got home from Iraq for his R & R. He had put in for it last March and was approved but when the time came, they kept him there a week past his promised time - but then - that is the Army and they know who they need and where. So glad to have him back in the good ol' USA. He only has a 10 day leave but that is precious time to spend w/family and re-aquaint with his precious son & wife. Love the pics of Tyler - I feel like I can see him grow daily! His smile is just beautiful. If anyone is down for any reason - just pull up a picture of Ty and you cannot look at him w/out smiling. So thankful you all had a blessed Christmas - Love the Christmas programs and Cantatas. What is a NY tradition? Well, we don't usually have a tradition but one of the best New Year Eves I've had was a couple of years before Mother passed on - I had moved in w/her and we all got together to play games and celebrate. Come 11:45p mother got up so we put a celebrating hat on her and asked her how she wanted to celebrate the new year. She said for us to all go out in the kitchen and get a pan and a spoon and at midnight we could all celebrate alike. Young and old - w/the front door open banging on pots/pans. What a great memory and time. Well, we had a LOT of snow but this morning around 8:00am we had an earthquake (4.2) but the only way I knew about it was on the radio. Felt nothing. Some people called the radio station and said they were from California and this was just a blip on the radar screen. Well, anyway it is raining now and the wetherman said it will get up to around 40 degrees - Sledding is now over for a while. Love you dearly, Aunt Maryann

Good Morning Leslie! A new look to the blog banner, huh? Awesome...can't wait to see it :) Love that devotion story! Praying, praying, always. QOTD - I have very little willpower over most anything's terrible. It changes. It's not always just one item. Sometimes it's no willpower over sweets, sometimes chips & dip, sometimes nuts, sometimes Mexican's crazy...they run in phases. Have a great day. Love & Hugs. "Angel" Linda
