Good Friday morning and Happy New Year's Eve!!  This is my new blog banner!!  Thanks to my sweet hubby Mike who knows how to do that kind of stuff and made it for me.  What do you think?  The pictures will change from time to time.

What is everyone planning to do for the weekend?  Any special plans for tonight?  Mike and I are going out with some dear friends of ours tonight for dinner.  Looking forward to a fun, relaxing evening!

Last night we went to our friend Holly Miller's 30th birthday party.  Holly knew about the party but did not know that her parents and grandparents were coming from the Santa Maria area to surprise her and be at the party.  When they walked in the look on Holly's face was priceless. She was soooo surprised.  What a great gift to her.  I had happy tears too.  We had a fabulous time with lots of great friends and food!  Thanks Dennis and Bonnie for hosting.

I want to start off this year by being able to wish all the readers here a "Happy Birthday!"  So if I don't have your birthday let me know when it is.  Happy Birthday Randi Ross on January 2nd!!

Here are some pictures of Tyler excitedly helping Uncle Jeff open one of his Christmas presents.  The first one he is saying, "Oh you have a present!"

"I want to help you open your present!"

"Let me at it!"  Tyler did not realize for awhile that we had stuck 2 bows to his head.  :)

My San Diego Chargers are playing their last game on Sunday for the season.  We are playing the Broncos in Denver.  Sadly we did not make the playoffs this year.  :(  But they are my team and I still love them no matter how they do.  There is always next year.  GO CHARGERS!!!  Randi Ryan.....will you be watching??

My prayer request is that God will richly bless you and your families this year with good health, happiness, love, peace, and joy in your hearts.  May you continue to grow in life and with your relationship to the Lord.  May God always provide you with all your needs.

Lamentations 3 verses 23 & 24:  Great is his faithfullness; his lovingkindness begins afresh each day.  My soul claims the Lord as my inheritance; therefore I will hope in him.

Have a wonderful, relaxing and fun weekend everyone!!  I am taking the weekend off from blogging again but I will be back on Monday!  Please stay safe when you are out celebrating tonight.  Since I won't be posting on January 1st or 2nd I wanted to give you your assigned chapters to read through the bible in a year.  January 1st is Genesis, chapters 1-3.  January 2nd is Genesis, chapters 4-7.  I am so ready to do this.  I have A LOT of people who have e-mailed me saying they are going to do it.  Remember to not get frustrated if you miss a day or two here or there.  Just continue where we are.  We can do it!!

Today is another gift from God and He is so Good!!

Question......Anyone make any New Year's resolutions??

Just had to drop in to say, we had an interesting New Year. About 10:30 p.m. we heard this horrendous crash that shook the whole house! Turns out it was all the ice build-up crashing down from the back side of the roof! TONS OF ICE! We couldn't get out the back door - had to move ice & snow to be able to open the back door. Some of the ice chunks were so thick that mom & I together couldn't make them budge! There was some minor damage to the house - broken downspout, broken water handle on the outdoor faucet, some broken pieces of siding. Scared the heck out of us. We tried to move as much of the ice as we could, so that it wouldn't melt & seep into the downstairs...we got back in the house with 15 min before the 'ball drop'. It's warmed up & been raining off & on all day today - almost all the snow is gone now...not sure how long it'll take for the ice to melt though. It was sooooo thick! Samantha teaches the preschoolers for Sunday School tomorrow - she's a little nervous & a whole lot excited. Got her lesson, craft & snack all ready! I know she'll do great. Will let you know on Monday how she does. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Love & Hugs! "Angel" Linda

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! Yes, it is after midnight - and we did go to a party at church, we sang, prayed, ate wonderful food, had a white elephant exchange (ours are going to be saved for next year's elephants LOL!) Wonderful, fun filled evening! New Years Day we always watch the Rose Parade in our jammies, eat waffles and munch on leftover Christmas goodies all day. New Year's resolutions? Yep! Going to FINISH reading the Bible through in 2011. Started last year, going to pick up where I left off and finish. I'm using a chronological schedule that takes you through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice concurrently. I love the encouragement, Leslie - YES WE CAN DO IT!! I've done it many times. I have a tip for ya'll. Leslie, if you write the scheduled reading this way: (Example) Genesis 1:1-3:15 readers can copy and paste it into and they won't even have to open their Bibles and find it. That is soooo convenient, easy and quick! I think there are 20 English translations you can choose from, and you can set your preferences to the one you like best. There are several Spanish translations as well. I'm also going to try to take off a few more #s and get better organized. Love and God's richest blessings for everyone! ♥

OK, you heard her! She loves chips & dips. And she needs to gain weight, so set some BIG bowls of it right smack in front of her. ;D Really like the new banner. Love the pics of Tylie Wylie. *** That's a TERRIFIC idea to read the Bible through together, and I'm so proud of you, Leslie, for thinking of that! That's something I've been doing for a few years now, and you'll be amazed that no matter how many times you read it, you'll always get new things. Words just seem to jump out at you. Yet there are so many things I don't understand still - and it wouldn't matter which translation I read, I still wouldn't understand them, but that is because God is so awesome, we just can't take everything in. I believe my personal favorite translation is the New King James Version (not the old version with the archaic language). The NKJV uses modern language and is very reliable. If you're interested in that sort of thing, it gives footnotes giving the minor variations between the different Greek and Hebrew manuscripts from which we get the English language translations. Some of the other translations give some footnotes, but usually not as faithfully as the NKJV does. I'll be reading through sort of with you all, but I like to do the New & Old Testaments at the same time, and have my own schedule - already have it printed up. One thing you can do if you get behind and don't want to miss anything (I've done this many, many times) is to double up for a few days until you get caught up. I'm actually doing that at the beginning of this year. I was doing really well until the rush of Christmas got ahold of me, and then I got behind right at the last. So I worked in the last of last year's reading into the first of this year's. *** What are my New Year's resolutions? I resolve that this year I will exercise every day, drink more water and get more sleep. Starting TOMORROW night! zzzzzz Still praying in AL. Love, Ev

Hi Leslie! Ooooohhhh, I loooooove the new banner - awesome! Mike is sooo talented :) No big plans for the weekend. We are planning to go out to dinner somewhere early this evening...we're talking over ideas of where to go - right now nothing sounds appealing - it's all so "same old, same old". Love those pics of Tyler. It reminds me of when my kids were that age - they had to helped everyone open every single gift & they were so excited over every present, whether it was theirs or not. That makes Christmas so much fun! Their excitement is so contagious! I'm so excited to get on to the Bible fact, last Sunday our Pastor told us that starting in Jan., he'll be doing an 8 week teaching on this works right in with our Bible reading plan! I'm gearing myself up for my new Bible college class too - it's all on Jewish & bible history - can't wait to get started on that. I'm just worried that with all we're cramming into our schedules, that it won't leave me much time to get to my writing - which is burning like crazy inside me right now too. I'm trying to lay out an easy-to-follow plan to make sure that I make time for my writing & for exercise - guess those are my main New Year's resolutions...doing more writing & exercising. I'll miss not hearing from you until Monday - but you enjoy spending this weekend with your family & friends. I know you'll be heading back to school soon too. Time is so precious - make the most of it! Praying, praying, praying for so many people & situations. I found an interesting book in an obscure close-out store the other's very good. It's called 'The Prayer Chest' - it's a short fictional novel - but carries some heavy messages. Here's a small snippet from the book: (Joseph paraphrased the three secrets the best he could. He explained that the answers to prayers come through you, not to you. Joseph waited for this to sink in, for while it sounded simple enough, it was the opposite of what everyone believed about prayer. Then he explained that prayer is answered when you're listening to God, not when you're busy talking. Joseph hoped that the Mulches didn't find this insulting. "The third secret is the hardest because the answer to your prayer isn't going to look like you picture it. You've got to welcome what happens to you because everything that comes is part & parcel of the prayer's answer." Without Grandma Mary's wisdom or wording, but with his own plain elegance, Joseph conveyed the mysteries of answered prayer.) I'm really enjoying the book. I've almost finished it, it's rather short, but pretty powerful. Funny how we run across some of these little 'jewels' in obscure places. You have a great time tonight celebrating with Mike. To all who read this: HAPPY & BLESSED NEW YEAR! May God richly bless each of you to overflowing in 2011. It's been quite a blessing to get to know more & more of you this past circle of friends has widen greatly...for that I'm very thankful. May those friendships continue to grow closer & deeper this coming year. Love & Hugs, "Angel" Linda

Love the new banner!! Great pics of everyone! Hapy New Year!! Wishing you all the best in 2011.Any news on Amy Bo? Been thinking of her... I have a long list of New Years resolutions (as always), Joshie came up with one on his own yesterday...he said "Mom I am not going to say "hold on" anymore when you tell me to do something, I am just going to do it the first time I am told!!" WOW, don't know where he got that, but I LOVE IT!! Hugs....
