Oh yes. DEFINITELY! Thanks for reminding us, Terry. Leslie is always in my prayers, but I will be praying especially hard the next 2 days for awesome test results. Praying for total healing of Leslie's immune system, too. I'm gonna add MY Happy Birthday for Angel Linda now, too! A Big Happy Birthday, Linda! I'm thankful you've been there for Leslie and thankful to have "met" you online through her, even though I wish I could have met you some other way. Glad you had a great Thanksgiving, Leslie. And now I'm thankful that Edith gave me a big laugh on this blog. I love the kleenex one. *** We had lots of food and it's mostly gone now, that's how good it was - even though gluten free and sugar free and even low fat - even the pumpkin and lemon pies - couldn't tell they were dietetic. Those were gone by the end of yesterday. But never mind, low fat, sugar free means low calorie, right? *** We did a very little shopping on black Friday. We had a bit of shopping at Wal-Mart but went to Sam's Club first in case they had any free samples. No free samples, but when we walked in, everyone was up front glued to the big screen TV with "THE" game on it - U of A against Auburn. Even employees were up there cheering for the Crimson Tide - one with a microphone announcing the plays for the employees who had to actually work. (wasn't much business. A BIG mistake to schedule that game on Black Friday - ruined business for every store in Alabama!) We didn't buy anything but had a blast watching it with all the other people - even though the Tide lost to Auburn by one point :( !!! *** At Wal-Mart we got a water proof pillow protector for a new bed for my dog Snuggles, who is suffering from a skin disorder and I thought a new bed might help. I didn't use the pillow protector cause it ended up just slightly too big to go into it, so I used a plastic trash bag istead. I made it from a queen size folded old fuzzy blanket sewed together, inside of a plastic trash bag, which is inside an old pillow sham that went with a quilt I made for Stephen when he was a little boy. And that is inside of a cardboard box cut to hold it. The quilt is long gone, but that sham has taken on a new life, and Snuggles is curled up in it beside of me right now. She knew immediately what and who that was for. :) (waggy waggy) Well, that's all for now. Still praying in AL. Love, Ev

Hi Leslie! Thanks for the beautiful birthday wishes here & on FB! I really appreciate it. You're too sweet :) Thanks also to Randi, Edie & Sami for the sweet b/day wishes too. The cake was hilarious! After 45 years of threatening to put candles in the turkey (the joy of having a b/day so close to Thanksgiving), they finally came through!!! Okay, okay, so it was a turkey decorated cake, but still :) Had a great day. Talked to my aunt, who got a great blessing today AND also got to talk to Sami's great aunt & uncle in Fresno this afternoon. Mom went to the funeral this afternoon for her friend's mom. Be praying for Sharon again - her live-in male friend is in the hospital and not doing well. They haven't confirmed if he's got pneumonia or not, just saying that his left lung is not good. He's in the end stages of a battle with leukemia and with all that Sharon has coming up (her port, chemo, radiation) she'll be really devastated if anything happens to him. I'm taking her Monday morning to have her port put in too. So I won't be here at the blog until we're done with that...and if the 'item' I'm expecting, comes in the mail Monday, I'm heading to Erie to do some much needed rejoicing, celebrating & shopping! I don't go anywhere near the stores on Black Friday...too many people for my taste. I looked at all the ads too...and didn't seem to miss a thing...didn't see one 'must have' deal. Happy Birthday, Linda! Leslie, We had a very nice Thanksgiving in spite of my sinus infection and bronchitis. Herb wanted me to take it easy and he took me out (NO COOKING AND NO DIRTY DISHES - YEAH!!). (Though I do love cooking and missed that). We had a choice between Mimi's Cafe which would have been elegant, and Hometown Buffet which always puts out a good T-day dinner. I chose Hometown for the choices and pigged out. Feed a cold?? Mine was well fed! We went late afternoon and there was NO wait, and the food was awesome. Herb and I took turns counting our blessings - thanks for giving us that assignment! I went to 28. Definitely one of my blessings is YOU! You inspire me. Gotta share 2 more: Thank God for dirty dishes (yeah you read that right! They are evidence of plentiful food. And thank God for dirty laundry, cuz they prove we have more than enough clothes. I spent most of the day kicking back and working on photo albums on Facebook. You can check them out, and wishing friends and family a Happy Tday. My black Friday shopping consisted of going to the 99 Cent Only store for boxes of kleenex for every room of the house! Thank God for them, too! Oh, we did pick up a few other things. Now I'm shopping online. Office Depot has a (drumroll please) LEATHER massage chair for $79. Herb's "buying" it for me for Christmas LOL!

Happy Birthday "Angel" Linda!!! Thanksgiving was full of joy for us. Steve was moved out of ICU that morning. :) Through this tragedy, new relationships have developed. Because of the accident, Shawn and I have had the wonderful opportunity to meet Janice's brother, Sean, and his wife and daughter. We spent Thanksgiving with them. What an absolutely amazing, loving family. Shawn and I went to Wal Mart Friday morning at 10. What we wanted wasn't on sale, so we walked out. That was the extent of our Black Friday shopping.
