Leslie's memorial service today was absolutely beautiful  It was an outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and members of the community.  It was so touching to see so many people whose lives had been impacted by Leslie, to hear the love in people's voices as they shared memories together at the lunch.  It is easy to see that Leslie's loving and caring spirit will live on in the hearts of all she met.

Thanks to all who came, who offered condolences, who offered love and prayers.  Thank you to all those who were unable to attend, we could feel your love across the miles.  A great big thank you to all those who helped with the lunch - it was absolutely perfect.  All those who planned, decorated, cooked, cleaned, and did tasks I didn't even know about.  Thank you so much

We started this blog as a method to communicate Leslie's progress to all of her family and friends.  But Leslie soon saw it as an opportunity to reach out to people, to help encourage them, to pray for them, to love them.  And, as I have told you before, she took that seriously.  This blog was her ministry and no one could replace her in that.  Tomorrow I will make the last blog post, my eulogy to her.

Today was such a very special celebration of Leslie's life. It was so special to be able to gather with others whose lives had been touched by Leslie. Her genuine love for others was apparent when you realized the many ways that each of us was tied to Leslie--there was her "family" family, her church family, her family of close friends, her work family, her blog family, her medical family, just to name a few of those who sought to honor and celebrate her today. The music was so meaningful and I did so appreciate the words from her pastor. What a tribute to a wonderful person, placed in each of our paths by a loving God. Prayers and blessings continue for you all as we all attempt to live out the God-sent love and grace that she lived out in her all-to-short life. I was blessed to have had her as a friend! Thank you Mike, Jenna, and Jeff for sharing her with me!

Today's Celebration for Leslie was beautiful, just as she was. It has been my privileged to call her friend. I will miss her sweetness, and her gentleness that always surrounded her. She will be missed, but as the Pastor said this morning, everytime someone shows love to someone else, we keep her memory alive, because that it what she did so well. God was certainly represented well through Leslie. I pray that the Lord will bless and keep you and your family, that He will fill you with His peace and may His love, mercy and His grace surround you. God Blessings..Debi

Leslie always made me feel like i was the only thing that mattered at whatever particular moment God placed me in her path. I felt such peace with the private prayer requests that i would send her....I knew she prayed for me when i asked her. She was a friend for life...always steadfast...always loyal...never judgemental....I am so fortunate to have called her a friend. Mike, u r solid! I wish u and your family much health, peace and happiness!
